Can anybody give me a little 'Angel' info? Please?
When Buffy came back in season six, i know at one point she went to see Angel - he had found out she was back.
HOW did he find out, and what was happening in L.A. at that point? BabyConner? Cordelia Love? Darla, still? I've only seen season five of 'Angel' so i have no clue.
Please help!!!
I'd be ever, ever so grateful...

Back to Angel and Season 5, the problem with him in that season is that he was very one note. Grumpy. All season long. With some valid reason for being so, but still... You rarely get to see him anything but grumpy. I spent most of Season 5 reading the forums on TWOP and there was much discussion of how bad the character continuity was that year. I also hated how they wrote Spike most of the time, to be honest. I thought the writers devolved him to play the fool most episodes. And yes, Angel did treat him very badly most of the time. One of the TWOP posters (I think it was Teenes, who had very insightful posts) said that both Angel and Spike regressed to their worst and most childish aspects whenever they were around each other.
The only fun to be had that season was the fact that the writers seemed to think it was OK to crank up the HoYay! factor to the highest notch allowed on network TV. The only fanon pairings not given airtime were those with Xander, simply because Xander never appeared. But if you liked Angel/Lindsey, Angel/Wesley, or my god Angel/Spike (that one is now canon!) you were happy.

Ah well.
Yeah, season five was awfully grumpy and doomy and woe-is-me.
I watched because of Spike but was terribly, TERRIBLY disappointed with what they did. You got it exactly right - they wrote him to play the fool, and that was just - wrong.
And yeah, the cavemen/astronaught argument was kinda funny, but when stuff like that just went on and on....Blah.
And, i know, i'm a Spike fan, but would Angel REALLY just dismiss what he did in Sunnydale (dying and stopping the First) and his soul so casually? So PETTILY? I mean - that was dumb.
*sigh*
Another reason i like fanfic - this stuff can be fixed!
Nice post, by the way - interesting stuff. :)
I'm trying to borrow my sis-in-law's 'Angel' dvds but she has one missing from season one and that sucks. Trying to figure out how to fix that. hehe.
