Yes yes, it's done! Finally! And i've felt like such an amazing slacker, not working on this. But now it's done! Wheeeee!

Thank you guys so much for sticking with this 'untraditional' Spander story and for cheering me on - it's been great!

As always, huge hugs to [livejournal.com profile] reremouse for her poking and squeeing and timely beta-remarks, and to [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for telling me if my sci-fi 'stuff' made sense. *smoooshes you both*

[livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou - does the 'Spander' line count? Heee! S/X all the way, bay-bee!

Wheeee!
Finally!
For some reason, this chapter *kicked my ass*.

And i have the bestest flist in the whole wide world. Thank you for all the wonderful congratulations and best wishes on my anniversary post! We had a wonderful, low-key day that included a movie with Monstrous.
:)

Now the fic! Can't believe it took me so long. Thank you thank you, [livejournal.com profile] reremouse, as usual!
*smooch*
Previous parts are here.

Enjoy!

*P.S. to [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou - S/X!! :)*

Yes, actually updating! Sorry it took me so long - seems like the holidays just discombobulated me completely.

But i'm back! First things first, though. The Visit!
Ramble... )

In other news - i hate my state. Only two cities that of i know of are showing Brokeback Mountain, one is two hours from me and one is four. Fucking hell!

And - Supernatural has sucked me *in*. I saw my first ep this week and oh man, oh man, oh man. *Flails*. Yis. :)

Now, the story! So glad you all have waited and *read* this odd thing. I know it's not to the taste of a lot of you out there, but i really appreciate the support! *snuggles you all* Especially *snuggles* [livejournal.com profile] reremouse for her uber-support and de-erroring and just general chit-chat and help. Makes all this *so* much easier when i've got her to decompress all over!

...it rhymes!
Sorry. Feelin' a little punchy. Heh.

Went out to stores *three times* today. OMG. I despise shopping at the best of times. Shopping *now*, when everyone is running around like weasles on crack? The absolute worst. Jayzus.

And why, why, why do people who apparently can't read, can't open plastic bags, and can't *touch the right button on the touch screen* use the self-serve checkouts? And when the sign says 'Express - 20 items only', why do they go up there with a *loaded cart* and start fumbling around??

*sporks them mercilessly*

Thanks for adding *twenty minutes* to the hell of my shopping day!
The reason i use the self-checkout is so i don't have to be social and talk to anybody! When you're trapped in neverending lines, it's inevitable that some doofus will *talk to you*!!

*sporks everyone*
*except my flist*
*ahem*

Anyway. A nice dinner at my mother in law's house this evening that my sister in law prepared. She really, really, really needs a vacation. Anybody wanna give a single mother of four a break?
*pets sister in law, who is *losin' it*, slowly but surely*

On to the fic! Many hugs and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] reremouse, as always, for beta-ing and reading over and in general being utterly honest. *smooch*

...babble!
Wheee!
:)

Everybody on my flist is all 'snow, it's snowing!' and we have *none*!! So not fair. It's cold as all get-out, but *no snow*.

The kittens - who, let's face it, are not really kittens anymore - are all in the house today, just 'cause it's so cold. L'il Brudda *waves at Strongbad* has a cold with sneezes and a weepy eye, poor guy.

We've done a little xmas shopping, all for Monstrous, basically. Gods, we're so broke. Ah well. Makes it easier - only one person to shop for! Tomorrow, hopefully, we get our tree. A cold tramp through the woods searching for the perfect cedar is always good. And i love, love, love the smell - fills up the house.

I have a rec! Absolutely lovely stuff. Basically it's an OC POV story 'about' Spike, and Slayers. The Vietnam War, the jungle, soldiers and civilians and vampires... Absolutely incredible. Follow the link in the header for other ficlets in this 'Series of Short Stories about William the Bloody. You will *not* be sorry.
Proud Mary by [livejournal.com profile] ludditerobot.

I didn't mention this the last couple of posts, but [livejournal.com profile] reremouse is still the absolute bomb for looking this story over for me and correcting my mistakes and giving me invaluable feedback. Thanks, doll!

Hallo!
Just 'cause I can, GIP!! Made by the frantabulous [livejournal.com profile] pervy_icons. Just for me! Wheee!

Now, final NaNo count:

24,489 / 50,000
(49.0%)

Not so bad. I slaked a bit, i'll admit. But I also *wrote* and got my brain all into plot-mode, which is my biggest stumbling block. And i know where it's going now, so i would say that, over all, NaNo was a success! Wheeee!!

Actual word count that includes what i wrote before is 29,888. I've got a long way to go, but Tod and London are alive and well! Yay!

And, of course, more Space!Spander! Yay!
*ahem*
Is it unseemly for me to be excited about it like that? I should be all 'oh, yes, here's more, read if you like...' *affects yawn*.
Heeee.
Not likely.
*smoooches you all*

Part five.

ETA:Bones and House *possible spoilers!!* - was the courtroom stuff in 'Bones' really 'real' at all? Seemed so very *not*. I liked the Booth/Bones bonding over annoying personal handlers. The friend - can't remember her name - is getting *way* annoying in her zeal to make Temperance 'normal' with a boyfriend. Sheesh.
House! Oh, so fun. 'I'm gay, I'm with Wilson' *paraphrasing*. Wheeeeeeee!! Yis! *fist pump*

Hallo, flist!
*hugs you all*.
:)

Anyway - NaNo! Yis, i've been slackin'. Ah well, Still *writing*, and that's all that counts.

22,441 / 50,000
(44.9%)

Let's see, what else?
[livejournal.com profile] nwhepcat finished Keeper of the Book. Absolutely wonderful fic that starts after the robot-dad incident. Mostly gen - there's a little sparking between Wes and someone, there's humor and horror and cliffhangers! and...it's all in all just a lovely read. Go! FB!

Vastly enjoing our new and improved cold weather. *snuggles my space heater* It's the best! We've even had below-freezing mornings! Bird-feeders full and suet hung! Watching the little ladder-backs and chick-a-dees and titmice is so much fun.

[livejournal.com profile] savoytruffle finished There's Your Trouble, a delightful cross-universe Spander romp. Read! Laugh! Love! :)

And now, the fic! Previous parts are here.
Thank you thank you! as usual to [livejournal.com profile] reremouse, who encourages and snarks and pokes and bounces.
*smoooch*

Part four.

*la la la*
I wonder what a 'Scaling Heaven' icon would look like?
*la la la*

ETA: Just watched my 'Bones' tape - the gun convo at the start! Heeeeee!! I'd be happier with that show if they did *not* do a 'sympathize with extraneous characters' bit. Just concentrate on the forensics and, you know...Agent Booth. :)

ETA2: Now i've watched 'House' - wheeeee!! House confirmed! And the gay patient confirmed! *snerk* Jayzus, Cameron, get over yourself. Skeery eyebrow lady! BWAAAhaha! *ahem* No, i have no morals.

Yes yes, i know - you're all waiting with bated breath!
Heeeee.

NaNo progress so far:

17,073 / 50,000
(34.1%)

No *quite* what i'd like it to be, but still...not bad. Actual word count, including the bit i had done *before* November 1st is 22,408. So, doing good. :)

I've decided that if i'm actually going to *publish*, it's probably not a good idea to have this out there for public consumption. Blah. Sorry about that, flist.

And now, on to part two of Space!Spander! Previous parts are here.

Character Sketch/Backstory is here.

Wheeee!!

I've been both nervous and excited about posting this. Excited because i really like it, nervous 'cause it's a little bit different....

Different how, you say? Well, basically, it's scifi. And not a crossover! Heh. It's my own scifi, and Spike and Xander are the only 'familiar' characters in the story.

So...i hope you'll give it a try even if you hate the genre...and i hope that it goes over well!
*hugs fic to bosom*

And the poll! Wheeeeeee!! My fist ever poll, and it went so well! And i see some lurkers on there.
*waves at lurkers*

So, yay, backstory won! So there will be backstory, and then there will be the fic. I wonder if i should make them seperate entries... Hrmmmmmm... I think I will. That'd be best.

So, here is the character sketch, first, and then there will be part one! Wheeee!!
*bounce*

Yes, I'm excited. :)
I'm also slooooowly changing my website to a different background color. Under the Mountain is now on my site in the new colors, so if you wanna pop over and see and tell me yes or no, that'd be cool.
:) *smoooch*
