In other words, no fic.
Sorry! The holidays/my stupid, stupid, will not go away illness/cough/whateverthefuck is making me a non-writing hooor.
*sigh*
Soon! Tomorrow, even, if i can get it together.

Anyway - this post is about lj and, more specifically, tags! Yay, i'm finally doing some. I'm gonna eliminate the memory thing altogether, i'm thinking. Wheeeeee! Anyway.

I'm doing tags on stuff, I want to have a little sidebar that has all my tags in. How, how, how do i do that? Is my particular 'style' or 'theme' or whatever not accomodating of those? I can't really tell!
*flails around*
My style, btw, is 'Punquin Elegant'

And if it does *not* supoprt tags, is there one that looks a lot like this one that *does*? Please, people who do their own lj customizing - halp!

Also - lj's 'inbox'. Did not know i had this. Can i turn it *off*? There are over 100 pages of crap in there. I can only delete one page at a time, i'm pretty sure. Taking. Forever.
Halp! Halp!

*luffs you all*

Tornado warnings all over tonight. It's fuckin' *January*. Jayzus.

ETA: Yes, i have a paid account.

ETA2: If anybody out there knows how to make an lj all custom and would *do this for me* i would pay you in some form or another. We'll discuss it, yeah? 'Cause...omg. *sporks lj*

I personally prefer flexible squares. I think it offers the most options while still staying all clean and pretty. I can remake this LJ in Flexible Squares with a few things from you. If you want the header above, it should be somewhere in your LJ-ness. I'm not sure how you set this up, but if you did it with CSS, it'll be in the code (the link, I mean). If you did some other old school way, you can just pull the header from the page like you would any other pic and re-upload it. No big there.

What is big is your color codes. If you want the exact same color scheme, I need the codes for these specific colors. Now if you did this layout by going in and just messing around with the stylemaker thingie, you can go to the "Customize Your Theme" section, click "Styles" on the sidebar and send me the numbers you see in the little boxes in the order you see them (so I can reference which color goes where) OR if you did this but putting a CSS layout up, you can just send me a document with a copy of the code and that will have the color codes in it. I'll transfer those to a Flexible Squares code, you'll put it back up, no muss, no fuss.

Don't worry if you don't know how to install the CSS code. I'll give you a handy walk-through cheat sheet. I've gotten seriously technophobic people through installing their layouts before, so you shouldn't have a problem.

So, in summary:

URL for the header, old or new

color codes

After that, it's all plug and play!

Okay...few steps to this one.

Home Page

Journal

Customize Journal

Customize Theme (this is in small print by your current theme)

Styles

Your colors should pop up. If they don't, or they don't match the colors that you see on the journal, then you're probably using a stylesheet. But, we'll cross that bridge if it plops itself in front of us.

I'll modify a CSS stylesheet and you'll copy paste it into the LJ customize. Don't worry: detailed instructions to follow! :)

The screenshot is great. It's just a little incomplete. Can you capture the bottom half, with the sidebar colors and such? Otherwise, I'll be sitting here color matching for hours. Which sounds fun, but it's really a one-way ticket to Bellevue. I think I may have outdated myself in that one sentence...

Thanks, hon! I'll email you the stylesheet in a few days!

Oh, also! You're missing the code for the text area on the screenshot. It's competely blank. I'm not comfortable guessing, since you're so attached to this particular layout. And actually, now that I think about it...There's an easier way to do this! I'm sooo slow.

Instead of doing it in CSS...why not just change your style. As long as you have the color codes (and you do), there's no reason to get all fancy. Just re-customize your journal. I'll take "Duh" for two thousand, Alex!

Themes is what I meant. My fault for being unclear. Go to Customize Journal and in the search bar, type in flexible squares. Colors are unimportant because you're just going to change them. Once you change the theme, you'll have to reset all your custom colors, but that's not difficult since you have the screenshots. Since you don't really want something new, I think this might be the easiest way for you. CSS is really best for someone who just wants to cut/paste a new theme. You just want to change layout styles.

If this doesn't work, just drop me a line here and I'll finish up the CSS. But since you only want to switch to flexible squares, I think this shouldn't be too difficult.
