Yes! i watched 'Bones'. Had to, really. Just like i'll watch 'Kitchen Confidential' and 'Smallville' *gods help me*.

I won't be watching the 'How I Met Your Mom'. Yes, my Willow-dislike spills over into real life!
*ahem*

Anyway - 'Bones'. I won't cut since i'm not gonna spoil. Yes, i liked. Forensics! Cops! Bones and bits and cool little laboratory thingies! I'm a sucker for a show like that. Is it awesome to see Mr. Boreanaz out in sunlight? Yes! He's fun, solid, not stiff and fits the role. I like.
Quirky lab assistants? Check.
Crusty FBI superiors? Check.
Slightly improbable plot thingies? Check. But they weren't too awful.

Our 'heroine' fits the role, too. She's not model-pretty, super-skinny, wearing heels and makeup to a crime scene. She puts her hair back in a ponytail! She wears Wellies in the mud! At last, a practical working woman who doesn't lean her cleavage and her long, silky hair down into a three-week-old corpse.

If they don't push the 'romance' aspect too hard too fast I will enjoy this immensely.
Oh! And if the museum where her lab is anything like that in real life? DAMN. I must go.

I studied forensics, so yes...right there with you on the fascination! The books are amazing!

Can see what you mean about the Too much 'i'm an uber-cool con-artist ghost-hunting guy' and too much 'i'm all angsty and refusing to deal with my past' but to me - mother's milk! Plus - was all squee adrenalin rush omfg it's DB and I loved it and shock shock shock...I was their perfect audience.

Plus - think all that will even out past the premier and first couple episodes - they threw everything at us at once to catch us with the bright shiny!

*coughs* Worked for me! And pretty boys...brother kink...

My mom and I actually watched it together in her room. She had just as much fun as I did. What surprised me was that she didn't make one comment about what the guys looked like. Guess there weren't enough bun shots for her.

Glad to see mom and I weren't the only ones having fun watching this show. It was nice to see her enjoying herself again.

I liked the very last shot, where she pushed him sideways. Now they just look like they're having fun! I liked the sexual tension. Just don't make it all lovey-dovey. OH! And I am so gonna remember that gal's move when I want to get attention from a ticketing agent!

Must admit am waiting in hope for it to arrive here, but imagine it won't be for awhile. I was intrigued when I heard about the Museum enviro and then I heard DB and thought, yep, MSTV (Must See TV)

I didn't watch Bones because I didn't get home in time, but Entertainment Weekly called Supernatural (roughly) "Buffy with more guys. But no Giles."

*cries* I hate living here sometimes. It'll be months before we get 'Bones' and I've tried to d/l, using the links [livejournal.com profile] suki_blue sent, at length and long after her bed-time, but it didn't work! I need a new browser or a new computer or ... something. :( Glad you enjoyed it, though. :) There's a good side to everything.

Thanks a ton for the thought, hon, but I'm in the UK and don't have a multi-region video.

I'm watching 'House', though. I can't believe what a brilliant American accent Hugh Laurie has! His normal accent is upper class, cut-glass English. You've probably seen and heard him on Letterman or something. He started off as a comedian. Who knew he'd be such a good actor?

*hugs back*

LOL. It's all a matter of perception. I had the chance to speak to [livejournal.com profile] amejisuto on the phone recently and I loved her WV accent. To me, it was exotic and so cute. [livejournal.com profile] lunabee34 has made a couple of voice posts too and the Southern accent? So pretty!

Someone, I think George Bernard Shaw, once said that America and Britain are two nations divided by a common language. *g* I don't think that's true any more, thanks to movies, TV and the 'net. I find it easier to understand a thick Texan accent than a thick Scottish one.

I'm not sure what people make of my accent. I'm Australian, my mother was too but was educated in England and my dad was from the Australian bush country. I've lived in England for over half my life and my husband is a Cockney. Aussies say I sound English and Poms say I sound Aussie. I prefer to think I'm unique. LOL.

Is it true that 'Trainspotting' was subtitled in some parts of America because there were doubts that it would be understood otherwise?

The title of 'The Madness of George II' was changed to 'The Madness of King George' because it was feared that American audiences would think it was a sequel and wonder where the first one was, apparently. That is so patronising. Worse, because it was American executives who were doing the patronising. They doubted the intelligence of their own people.

It's not really much better here. TV is being dumbed down all the time by the proliferation of reality shows. It's getting easier all the time to get good exam results because the exams are made less difficult.

The reason I'm a good beta is that I'm well-read and love words. That's why you're an excellent writer. We're right; the hicks are wrong. They're missing out on a whole world they'll never know anything about. Poor sods.

I really should do a voice post one of these days! :)

No!! If you talk down to the lowest common deminator, that will become the norm. That's sad. If you can't get the original versions of HP, send me your snailmail addy and I'll post the originals to you. Your kids deserve to see what JKR wrote.

http://www.flambards.co.uk/ It might give you a laugh, and somewhere to go if you ever come here. Jeani is just in the adjoining county.

I watch the various CSI's and L&O and quiz shows. They're fun, but Big Brother and Pop Idol? *shudder*

Yep, we should. I'd love to hear you for real. Go on, you first. :p

I wanted to watch, just for the eyepatch she wears, but--there was something else on I wanted to see, so--

*coughs*CSI: Miami!*clears throat*

C'mon! Re-souling Angel was a good thing and so was taking Faith back to Sunnydale. Granted, Willow got--a bit unbearable, but she means well . . . most of the time.

I adore CSI: Miami, too--H is the man, how dared they kill Speed and that new guy sucks!--but everybody's hair is always hanging down in the bodies--wouldn't the contaminate the crims scene? And they're always dressed up, when lets face it, if you're gonna be looking at dead bodies, you're wearing sweats and jeans and having your skin covered.

But meh, that aside, the stories are awesome. And finally, a show were David Caruso is likeable =D

New!guy SUCKS! I can't stand him! Boo, new!Guy!
*chucks rotten cabbages at new!Guy's head*

But I do love Horatio's delivery. It's so over the top with the intensity, but I like it.

*is a leeetle in lurve with H*

That last line he says just before the theme-song can really pull a teaser together. Pure magic.

Okay, now, I'm off to fb UtM. At last--
