Well, I've missed a few days, but that is how it goes! Heh. No real reason, just not braining much. That, and the rainy/cloudy weather makes me kind of sleepy.

Anyway, since someone was curious, I thought I'd post a couple pictures of the house. It's of a particular kind of stone construction that's called Giraffe Stone. Not so much for the color, but for the way the stones fit together and resemble a giraffe's spots.

Our house was built in 1935. The rest of this post is image-heavy, so beware! :)

The front, with the Monstrous acting silly.

That's all our yummy mint under the porch, there. Here are some closeups of the various types of stone.

Some of the detailing that's over all the windows.

We have had a *lot* of rain and grey days here - a huge contrast to last summer, when we were forced to turn the aircon on in *May* and it was over 100 degrees and no rain for weeks. I can handle a June where the warmest days are only 82!

Went up to my mom's house last week and helped her sort a few things. She's going to be moving to North Carolina to live with my sister this autumn. It's a good thing all 'round by damn, I am going to miss her so *very* much. So bringing home some pictures and china and things that were in our old house for years and years...it helps. Some.

I've started my [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen! That feels good.

And that...is all. :)

She's going to be down here with me. Hope she's prepared for the humidity...yuck!

The house is gorgeous and the stone is so cool.

We have several houses in our neighborhood made of similar construction. Not as old as yours but lovely ntl.

Lovely house, very pretty! I prefer stone or cement rendered to wood any day - and your garden is looking good as well!

Yes, ours is only eleven years old and it was still under construction when we first looked at it. It is lovely, and spacious and has ample garden space but so boring to look at, and identical to every other house except that ours is detached but other than that it looks like every other house. So yeah, pretty boring and samey.

Your house is fantastic! I love all the different textures and colours.

We had a limestone grate in our previous house that had LOADS of tiny fossils in it. I miss it.

Oh, your home looks lovely! And 82 degrees in June sounds pretty much spot on. Where-ish are you located, if you don't mind my asking? That is an enormous year-on-year temperature difference!

That stone work is very cool! I love the detail around the windows.

Woke up to a downpour this morning but it's going to be upper 90's by noon. Ugh, muggy summer weather is an energy suck.

I love your house - it's unique and has loads of character. I hope your temperate summer lasts; we are also having a very mild month which should be the norm for MA but recent years have been HOT so I'm enjoying this cool weather.

Your home is beautiful!!

We had a bunch of rain here too, but then it would get into the high 80's / low 90's with 70-80% humidity. Not fun. It felt like I was breathing water on top of me being sick...

I don't quite know why, but somehow it is perfect that you live in a stone crazy-quilt of a house. lol.

Missing moms sucks. Repeat after me: unlimited long distance calling plan. It's not the same but it helps.
