Well, I've missed a few days, but that is how it goes! Heh. No real reason, just not braining much. That, and the rainy/cloudy weather makes me kind of sleepy.
Anyway, since someone was curious, I thought I'd post a couple pictures of the house. It's of a particular kind of stone construction that's called Giraffe Stone. Not so much for the color, but for the way the stones fit together and resemble a giraffe's spots.
Our house was built in 1935. The rest of this post is image-heavy, so beware! :)
The front, with the Monstrous acting silly.

That's all our yummy mint under the porch, there. Here are some closeups of the various types of stone.

Some of the detailing that's over all the windows.

We have had a *lot* of rain and grey days here - a huge contrast to last summer, when we were forced to turn the aircon on in *May* and it was over 100 degrees and no rain for weeks. I can handle a June where the warmest days are only 82!
Went up to my mom's house last week and helped her sort a few things. She's going to be moving to North Carolina to live with my sister this autumn. It's a good thing all 'round by damn, I am going to miss her so *very* much. So bringing home some pictures and china and things that were in our old house for years and years...it helps. Some.
I've started my
spn_summergen! That feels good.
And that...is all. :)

Hee! My patch-o-mint is, thankfully, self-maintaining.

Woke up to a downpour this morning but it's going to be upper 90's by noon. Ugh, muggy summer weather is an energy suck.

Well, if that's global warming, I'm going to hate living anywhere but the North Pole before long.

Meh! Oh, it is. Nothing zaps you worse than steam-shower days.

Yeah, 'fucking hot' has been creeping up on us the past few years - it really sucks. I'd much rather mild summers than scorchers.

We had a bunch of rain here too, but then it would get into the high 80's / low 90's with 70-80% humidity. Not fun. It felt like I was breathing water on top of me being sick...

Ack, yes. I hate it when it will rain for half an hour and then the heat and sun come back and it's like being in a steam shower. Blech.

Missing moms sucks. Repeat after me: unlimited long distance calling plan. It's not the same but it helps.

Yeah, talking on the phone isn't the same, but i know it's what's best for her.
