I loved it, your take on OMWF and Tabula Rasa (two of my favourite ever eps) was terrific. Plus, your Xander and Spike just keep getting hotter and hotter. Wonderful stuff.

Freaking wonderful!!! I'm so glad you had someone else beside Xander do the spell for Sweet, it just never seemed to me like something Xander would do. I loved how you got Spike into that suit, it was a nice change, and hee hee! NO stupid hat!

The last bit, with what Spike could have done, very chilling, but I liked it. I love the fact that Tara is going to stay with the bois, she belongs there! Just really great chapter! Well worth the wait!

Fuckin' fantastic chapter! Loved the twist on the episode with Sweet. The interaction between Ethan and Giles was just perfect. Giles is sooo whipped.

Of course, I'm happy to see Willow finally get hers. Everyone should be furious about her betrayl. And Spike's image of what could have happened is just spot on! People who forget themselves wind up dead on the Hellmouth. Willow should have known that.

You are a Goddess! It's been a true joy to see this story progress through the season.
So glad to see someone discipline Willow. Her absentee parents surely never gave her any consequences for her actions and only her inate sense of right and wrong kept her on the geeky straight and narrow. With her budding confidence she is bound to step out of line and yet no one ever really held her acountable. Yay Spike for telling it like it is! Love the idea of the Pack starring in their own version of West Side Story.

And Spike just wasn't going to pull any punches, and Willow was so, so lucky he didn't do MORE. But he'll still stop himself for Xander. Maybe it's XANDER Willow should be thanking.
Of all the things she did, i think the memeory spells were the WORST - so cavalier, so arrogant, so uncaring of the other persons' wishes. Just - WRONG.
If someone killed my Monstrous Bebe or Cat, and i had the power to skin them alive? You bet i would.

I agree. A lot of the big magics can be excused because she thought she was doing something to help someone(Buffy) or avenge someone(Tara) but the memory spells are a violation, not so pure and simple, just for her convenience.

And you look nothing like William Shatner(ala The Big, Giant Head)

Lovely new chapter. I really enjoyed how you worked the canon to include Ethan and Oz. I rather liked that Ethan was the one who called Sweet. It seems like something he would do while bored. I kinda thought it skipped ahead a bit. One moment everyone was heading to the Bronze to confront Sweet, then it was all over. I admit, I really wanted to see Willow suffer when she found out she pulled Buffy from Heaven, so it might just be me. But it seemed that there was a missing section there. It was neat the way you got Spike into the suit. I can see him doing that for Dawn. It was *really* nifty that you thought about having Oz in wolf form because the forget spell made him forget his human part. That was a nice touch.

I had read the update at your website before I saw your update here at your LJ. The link onsite to chapter 9: Song links back to chapter 8.

Sheesh.

As for the 'Sweet' part, yeah, i skipped the confrontation there and all - skipped ahead to Spike, Xander, Oz and Derio at home kind of going over what happened in a minimal kind of way. I didn't want to go into the gory details on that, and the 'betrayal' of the memory spell was so much more...hurtful, to me, than the other, so...

Oh, wow! That was better than the canon version of the episode -- better by far. And "Once More With Feeling" is one of my favorite episodes, too (it's a guilty pleasure). I liked the pack gathering around Tara to protect her from Willow, I liked Ethan being the one to call Sweet, and I loved Spike's final words to Willow. Gorgeous chapter!

Anya had tried a spell-book, but she'd only managed to conjure a spotted black and white rabbit. She'd screamed and passed out, and Rupert was currently trying to revive her with Essential Oil of Eucalyptus and scotch

Oh gods, I was in tears of laughter when I read this!

But the best bit was that final scene with Spike explaining in crystal clear detail what he would have done if the demon had been free. Wow!

I'm going to have to watch Tabula Rasa again now. Hee!

I lurved writing that bit - spelling out just EXACTLY what she was fucking with. DEMONS - spirits - things that are NOT love and light. I think Willow forgets that a LOT.

Holy crap, that was one powerful chapter. Shit, even I was scared of Spike when he was ripping Willow a new one!

I loved that Ethan summonec Sweet, that makes so much more sense than Xander. Also, *happy dance* for Derio showing up, and staying!

I can just echo what everyone has said so far about how great it was to see Ethan being the one to call Sweet, and the reason for Spike's suit -- much better than canon -- and Spike's words to Willow. The only new words of praise I might be able to add is that I'm now intrigued by Drake. Do we get to see more of him? May we dare to hope for happiness for poor Anya and a further departure from canon, i.e. an actual consummated wedding?

By the way, did I miss something or was there a reason given for the vamps trying to attack Spike? Or was it just random violence, for which god knows there's not really much reason needed in dear old Sunnydale? In canon I believe it was a poker debt...
