Someone out there has nominated something of mine again.
Who, who, who is the nomination fairy? I'd never even HEARD of all these award sites until just recently!
Reet, so - nominated for 'best author' at The Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards.

Also, Compass Rose was nominate for a number of catagories.

Thank you, whomever you are!
:)

Also - went to a birthday party for my nephew this afternoon. He just turned seven. He's a cute kid, and his little friends were cute, but - it was at the swimming pool! And i was so not into swimming! And there was drama! And really gross store-bought cake and really, REALLY gross pizza! And drama!!
*whine*
All i wanted was a quiet Saturday to write!!
*pout - winge - moan*

I am SO jonesing for xover fic. Some cool fic wherein my bois - or at least ONE of my bois - gets admired and talked over by someone else. Why is there no cool xover fic? I've read a couple of Highlander xovers that were all right, and a couple of SG1 xovers, but mostly Spike doesn't feature, and neither does Spander. And one Smallville xover starring Oz and Lex that absolutely blew my mind. HOT. I need to find that one again.

Anyway - that's my day. Off to write, i hope.
*hugs flist*
I know i've said it before, but you guys ROCK.

Congratulations on the new nom!

I've been collecting links to awards sites so I can put them up on [livejournal.com profile] bloodclaim's main page along with all the other links. Just to facilitate ease of nomination. ;o)

I'll go and check out that site and see if it meets my criteria for adding to my list. (Which means minimum typos on site and none on the awards themselves - I'm a picky bitch really. *g*)

Well poo, it's a geocities site and it has 'exceeded its allocated data transfer' so I'll check back later.

Well done! However, you do know that you so totally deserve it. Even though I don't think I've ever given any fb.

*feels guilty*
*thinks hard about something to make up for it*

A x-over fic? Don't read them, so I can't rec any. Sorry.

However, just for you, here's a SG1/Spander X-over. Untitled, unbeta-d, just a quick one on the hop.

“How in the hell did I let you talk me into this?” Jack grumbled as the two of them pushed through the crowds, his hands itching to reach for their absent zat guns. A few random blasts would have cleared their path and it certainly wouldn’t have seemed out of place in this insanity.

He trusted Teal’c with his life, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his friend. Usually. Right then he was seriously reconsidering that opinion. This was his weekend off, his time to relax and he’d made plans. Beers and fishing, fishing and beers – there wasn’t anything more perfect in this world or any other they'd visited; relaxation with a capital R. Just kicking back and chilling out.

Then Teal’c had seen the flyer for the Convention and Jack had watched his friend’s stoic façade crumble a little. Jack’s plans had changed immediately as he knew that Teal’c wouldn’t go by himself. He wouldn’t hear the end of those silent stares for weeks if this opportunity passed Teal’c by. So now he was standing in line in amongst a whole heap of whacked out aliens, getting steadily more and more pissed off each time he was jostled.

“Screw this.” He muttered under his breath and stepped back out of the line, patience never having been a strong point with him. “I’m in the bar. Good hunting.” Teal’c merely nodded, his attention never wandering from his target.

Jack would take care of the beers and Teal’c would carry on fishing. See, his plans for the weekend had only slightly changed.

The hotel bar was dark and thankfully free of geeks and fanboys, but that was only to be expected when the star names were doing their autograph sessions. There was only one other customer, nursing a glass of amber liquid. He glanced over as Jack ordered his beer and raised his glass in greeting. Jack replied with a small wave of his hand, cursorily evaluating him.

He was striking, certainly, with a shock of blond hair and seemed to be all sharp angles. He also had a distinct aura of “I’m not part of this madness” about him which puzzled Jack a little. If it hadn’t been for Teal’c he wouldn’t have been within a million miles of this place. Intrigued, and also a little bored, Jack walked up to the stool next to him and sat down.

An hour and a few more beers later, Jack had found out a little more about this guy. As soon as he’d opened his mouth it was clear he was English, and he insisted his name was Spike. Yeah, right, clearly thought he was some sort of rock star. Like Jack, however, he was here with someone else whose idea of a great time was standing in line for hours just to have their hero ignore them utterly.

Also Jack respected the way he was putting away the drinks without any obvious problems. Speaking of which… Jack excused himself and wandered off to the men’s room, making some more space for the next round. Walking back into the bar, he saw a dark-haired man with Spike, enthusiastically bouncing around. Spike laid a hand on the guy’s arm and he instantly calmed, leaning in and planting a kiss on the blond’s forehead.

So that’s how it was… Not a problem for Jack, it took all sorts to make a world. Spike saw him enter the room and gestured for him to join them. As Jack sat back on the barstool, Spike made the introductions. “Jack. Xander. He’s my…”

Jack pulled out one of his ‘got you already’ half-smiles and half-nods. “Yeah. So you’re the geek then?”

Xander smiles goofily and a little shyly. “Guilty as charged, but I’m not the worst in this place, hell, there’s even a Wormhole Extreme fan in there…”
TBC (if you want)

Gosh.

So can I dare think that you might just like it?

BTW, the last line should read Xander smiled goofily

Bah! Betas? Who needs them? Obviously me.

Why, what a pretty icon you have, m'lady! And how that picture is spreading. Not that it doesn't deserve to.

And mad kudos for the noms, too.

Didn't know if you have this site on but it's called Twisting the Hellmouth and it's nothing but crossover fictions.

congrats on the nomination! You soooo deserve it!

As for the cross-over, how about some Buffy/Xmen?
It's here (http://insaneasylum.slashfanfiction.com/fiction.htm)

I also know of another one, but I'm not sure it's Spander (or will be) and it's still a WIP. Lemme know if you want that link as well!

gosh there is that whole crossoever series with Highlander that starts with Methos coming into Sunnyhell and picking up Spike in a bar, and one of Willow's spells goes wonky just as the boys are exchanging blood and sex(u no, the usual) and they switch bodies. Anyway, the second book Xander ends up saving Spike by basically re-Sire-ing him so its THOSE 2 boys together after that.
cant'remember the name, but I probably found it on Twisting the HEllmouth and checking out the Spike as key character crossovers.
Currently re-reading Nick MIdian's Dark Reflections books, as he has a note up on his site promising the final chapter to the second book by Christmas. Its a great Xander characterization story, but, o well, it's X/C. Actually, Spike plays a fairly good role in the story, and the twist he puts on Spike soul/no soul is a little different that any other plot I've read.
references to slash, but no slash.
If you google Nick MIdian you will find his site.
I read a very funny BTVS/CSI crossover, where there is lots of slashy humor as the scooby's tease the heck out of the male members of the CSI gang and go on a field trip to Vegas. If I run across the link again I will post it.
I do know of at least 2 wonderful Spike/Methos and at least one Angel/Methos slash stories that I could give you links to.Just have to go dig them up.

I have a 16 part WIP Sentinel/Buffy/Angel xover called Miscellany at http://www.angelfire.com/grrl/scribescribbles/miscellanycontents.htm

Then I have an original character who has his own series (two, actually) named Clive, the Leather Hairdresser. In the Dreams of a Dom series, Spike pays him a visit. It's here: http://www.angelfire.com/grrl/scribescribbles/doadspike.htm

I love your stuff, so I look forward to any commentary you feel moved to give.

...and it just occurred to me that I SERIOUSLY need to write a companion peice where Clive meets Xander.
