I know i know. Meme! I must be nuts. But sometimes, they're just fun. So i'm doing the icon meme thingy. [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster picked 'em out.

[livejournal.com profile] angstpuppy made me this icon, oh - ages and ages ago. She's one of my oldest friends on lj, and to be honest, i can't remember if this was a b-day thing or what... Anyway, i've never gotten over my childhood love of horses and Winter is my favorite season, so...snowy horses! One of only two animated icons i have. I've had this icon on my icon page since she gave it to me.

By [livejournal.com profile] inyourpants_. Like pretty much every SPN fan out there, this episode was pretty much 'Oh, Dean... from start to finish. But nothing hit harder than how Dean totally became a little boy with his mom. I love the utter adoration in his eyes, and how he pushed into her touch and just... He loves her so much, he misses her every day, and it just breaks your heart. Oh, Dean.

By incata_art. Except lj says that's not a real lj so...i wrote it down wrong. Gads. If anybody knows who it really is, please tell me! I have to admit, i have a bit of a kink when it comes to hands with rings. Particularly pretty hands. And this is a *very* pretty hand. I love the spread and crook of his fingers, i love how the ring is so wide and solid and yet has that little detail on it, and how it seems to fit rather loosely on his finger. I love the unsaturated color palette. In short, this icon is love. ETA: [livejournal.com profile] incanta_art! Thank you, Jewels!

By [livejournal.com profile] urdsama. [livejournal.com profile] the_dean_show is awesome for bringing us Chibi!Sam'n'Dean. And what's not to love? Tough-guy Dean, with his buzz-cut and t-shirts, rocking out in his Metallicar or saving little brother Sammy from the monsters. And Sammy! With is floppy hair and sweet little face...*pinches them*. In my head, they're watching something really gasp!worthy, like a Lifetime for Women Very Special Story or an ad for feminine hygiene.

By [livejournal.com profile] deadatadisco. Marla! Who doesn't love Marla? She's foul-mouthed and horny and broken and lonely and funny and freakin' *gorgeous*. She smokes at a lung cancer group and she steals jeans out of a laundromat and she loves Ed Norton's character! This icon is the perfect image of Marla-with-attitude. Also, let's face it, i've had a crush on Helena Bonham-Carter for years and years and years.

By me. Heh. This is the actor Robert Carlyle in his role as Ives - or Colqhoun - in the movie 'Ravenous'. I adore Robert Carlyle. I adore Ravenous. The long hair, the beard, the weird sort of Xian thing with the cross in *blood* on his forehead...*swoon*. Yeah, basically this is 'i crush on this guy'. Plus, it makes for a good 'we're all going to hell!' statement.

By [livejournal.com profile] _taylor Oookay. Jason Behr. :) He had a small role as Ford in a Buffy episode (Lie to Me). He had a much bigger role in 'Roswell', which i never watched. He's been in several very interesting/good/fun independent movies, like 'Happily Even After' and 'Shooting Livien'. And some big movies like 'The Grudge'. But that's not why i have this icon. I have this icon because i got involved at TSP *The Shag Pile* and picked him for the person i was 'role playing'. I wanted someone sort of unknown, who'd been on the Buffy or Angel show. And wow, he's gotten a *lot* prettier, imo. I like the scruff and the long hair *so* much more than the clean-cut. Anyway. I 'role played' him. I role played him a *lot* with David B., who [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou wrote. And it was omg so much fun, and i totally fell in luff with Snow and even now, TSP behind me, Snow and i are still bestest buddies. And he's still freakin' gorgeous. So. JB icons make Snow and i giggle like schoolgirls, so it's all good. Also - i totally didn't notice it was animated until i'd had it a couple weeks.

Okay, so, there you go! If you wanna do this meme, ummm... Well, i don't know how many people might actually want to, but if you *really* want me to pick seven of your icons out, say so in comments. Otherwise, i'll assume you don't want to. And um - i'll prolly cut you all off at like two if a bunch of people ask 'cause...i'm sorta flaky like that. Sorry! Hope it was a fun post, anyway.

ETA2: I'm cuttin' you all off. My brain, she is so flighty, and three people is all i can handle. I know! I am a lamer! Sorry. But you all feel free to meme amongst yourselves.

The Sylar guy is enormously creepy!

They seem to be casting for looks. I was quite surprised when the cast Simon 'Shaun of the Dead' Pegg as Scotty.

I can't decide about the movie either, but I confess that it just being 'Trek' will get my bum on a cinema seat. Karl being in it will mean that mine will be a squirmy bum!!

Half of Sylar's creepiness is his eyebrows. They scare me more than the character ever could. D:

...Simon and Karl in Star Trek? *mind boggles* I've been vaguely excited and mostly rather confused why they would be mak- *re-reads* Simon as *Scotty*?

Simon, well I don't think he does but then again I've only seen him in comedies (Hot Fuzz is his newest one). Oh, wait and Doctor Who, which he was really good in. He's just... very English and very light with the coloring, which doesn't really lend itself immediately to Scotty.

...Him with a Scottish accent should be interesting.

Or at least someone who could plausibly be Scottish.

I'm not sure I even trust movies anymore. Not after The Seeker. *is still bitter*

Well, I'm not gonna make you listen to a rant but they basically took a (amazing, wonderful, sill reading and loving after years) book went 'Nice concept, just have to do something about that pesky plot oh and characters and this setting and...etc.'. It's very, why would you even want to make it into a movie if you're gonna change practically everything about it?

*sighs* Sorry, it's just- *makes a face*

And usually I'm the forgiving one when it comes to books into movies. :D *hugs*

Mmhmm and they cheated getting one of my favorite actors to play a part as well. *shakes head*

You know, I bet you'd like the book. It's book two of 'The Dark Is Rising' sequence by Susan Cooper. If you get the chance, check it out.

They made a movie of 'Out of Africa'?

...Even Meryl Streep couldn't make it good? Yeh gods. I'm sure I want to read the book first (I was very disappointed when I found out my library doesn't have it) if I ever dare see the movie.

Reading book one isn't absolutely necessary. Actually 1 and 3 are the slower of the books but 2,4 and 5 rather make up for that. I'd say read the first one first if you get the chance but most definitely read the second one no matter what. Oh and 'The Grey King'.

(Basically the 1st and 3rd are following one set of characters and the 2nd and 4th another, with one character moving back and forth between the two stories and then it all weaves together in the 5th)

I had this thought about 'The Seeker' but I think it fits here. Why buy the rights when you only want to do it about that one tiny bit instead of the whole movie? Wouldn't it be just as easy to fudge it and write a script about what you actually want to shoot?

*sighs* Crazy movie people.

I get what you mean, I've read some books from the fifties and such and they aren't politically correct or anything like that at all and it's just- *shrugs* part of what that book is. I wouldn't want any book I was reading edited for that anyway. :)

Tiny note: The book is actually called 'The Dark is Rising' the movie changed the name. :)

Actually I was really surpised, they issued new movie editions for the books but the covers are actually really nice. No movie pictures or anything, just things that actually go with the books. It baffled me with it's... non-commercialism.

I rather hate it to. They did it for LOTR and while I adore the movie, it's not the book.

And I'm not sure if you've seen this already or anything but- http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/1416949658/ref=sib_dp_pt/105-7830761-0963630#reader-link it's basically a preview of the book. I don't want you buying something you may not end up liking in the end. :)

There is one good thing about casting Simon Pegg, the guy is an outed Trekkie fan, which is kind of nice.
