Yay, yay yay! Living in a motel might sound fun - Sam and Dean sure seem to have all sorts of adventures! - but really, it's not. It's *boring*, and it costs way too much money, and...
Yeah.

Anyway -we're home! WHeeeeeeee!! So, so glad. We had the cats with us at the last, there - it was just *so damn cold* in the house, and i felt so bad for them, all alone in the cold and the dark.

I said in my last post that it looked like the Arden here, post-fighting. Well, funny i should say that because my dad - a WWII vet - said that driving home from the store this afternoon, he was thinking it all looked familiar...and when he finally figured it out, he realized his town looked like a little French village he'd seen right after Normandy, that had been shelled to within an inch of its life.

So. My home state looks like the aftermath of war. So not good.

For those of you interested, here's a couple pictures. Pretty big, so dial-up beware!

The tree on the carport.

Nice crunchy close-up.

The whole mess!

And this? This is looking west from a good vantage point...we have sunlight! And clouds...

Currently, it's snowing. Light, fluffy, dry snow that probably won't stick. And omg, so, so cold. I like the cold. I really do! I just don't like the *ice*.

Skip 300 to catch up, and i've got bookmarks out the wazoo again. Sheesh! I missed you guys so much!
*hugs you all*

And now, i must sleeeeeeeeep. In my own comfy bed. Yes!
*blows kisses*

Poor bebes! We once had no power for three days, when I was in college. We cooked over a kerosene stove and went to bed reeeely early. So glad you're okay. You can skip me---I haven't been doing anything or writing anything!

Welcome home!

We're still looking at more snow, and it isn't right. DONE with the stuff, it can go away now, thanks ever so.

Julia, it is weather which demands soup. Lots of soup.

We were all-electric back then....I have gas heat but it's connected to the thermostat, so I bet I would lose it all. Oh, well, I have the three kitties.

Wow! You guys *really* got hit by that storm. It iced up here, but no where near what you got, looks like. I'm glad you guys are okay! *hugs*

Bloody hell.

Beautiful pictures- but, bloody hell! Destruction! Trees are *really* big when the top end comes down to say hi.

I lived sans electricity for quite a while; do you have any kind of metal bucket or barrel that could be used as a burner? However you will need something dry to burn so maybe scratch that idea.

Sleep well! Flights of angels (bearing soup) sing thee to thy rest.

Beautiful pics, but such mayhem! Glad you're home. We're forecast a high wind all over the UK for Thursday, but I don't suppose it'll come close to your weather. :) Thank goodness!

Glad you're home! Generally my area gets at least one ice storm each year - we've been spared this time. Still the power company doesn't think its cost effective to bury the power lines so we have gas heat and hot water, gas logs, wood stove and a generator and just camp out when the power goes out.

Take care when the sun comes out for real - the ice falling out of the trees can be very dangerous.

burr! I know you said no power -- did the tree take out the lines as it viciously attacked your carport? Hotels get old really fast. I'm glad you're back home again. The tree pictures would be pretty if there weren't that pesky broken bit of carport mixed in. :-)

Yes, but not always in waking you up. Usually, when they pile up on me, I get up, but this morning I was sooooo comfortables with three kittehs lying next to my feet, my knees, and my shoulders, I did not get up.

Ay de me, I have to get to the office in 40 minutes to talk to a custody client and her mother. I have to keep saying the same thing over and over to them. (My office is only 4 miles away)

*hugs* Welcome baaaaaaack! That last picture was pretty! OMG!! I'm so damned glad none of you were hurt!

So. My home state looks like the aftermath of war. So not good.
Dayum.....

Glad you're home. Hey, at least it was just the carport!
What a pretty view you have!
And.... watch for a small package in the mail in thanks for the pants.
*hugs*
