Late, but here! Heh.

Our Turkey Day was better than usual, since instead of running all over to other people's houses - all Cat's family - we did lunch at grandparents-in-laws *cousin Jeff cooked, myself and sis-in-law cleaned up*. The cousins played and got along.

Then we all headed back here to our house - after sis-in-law and i went shopping - and had much snacks. Crudites, cheese, summer sausage, chips, dip, fruit... All good. My sis-in-law brought a huge stack of games so we played Trivial Persuit *pop culture* and a Harry Potter game called 'Scene It'. Both had DVDS as part of the game, which was all new and shiny to me. Monstrous and i, as a team, won both games! Whoo hoo!! I am so trivial. :)

Yesterday *Sunday*, Monstrous and i went to see Harry Potter. We were supposed to go with sis-in-law and the cousins, but she never called/showed, so i'm sure there's some sort of drama going on. Movie babble behind the cut.

First and foremost, they are *growing up*. OMG. Harry in the tub? Sheeeeeeeeesh. Shirly Henderson must have had fun. *Moaning Myrtle. And yeah, prolly she wasn't even there*. But OMG.

And - the boys. *Touched*. All the time. Harry grabbing Cedric, Ron grabbing Harry, random boys grabbing and petting Cedric and Viktor and even Harry a couple times.... Jayzus! Giant touch-fest and wasn't it just...*fun*.

I thought Madam Maxine would be a bit prettier. I was disappointed. I wanted more *Snape*. I wanted the World Cup game, at least a little! I wanted Veelas so that the boys all mooning after Fleur would make more sense since she was pretty but not arresting. I *really* wanted more Draco, damnit, and why couldn't the little ferret have run over to Harry and cuddled up to his ankle and been picked up and petted and soothed and...

*ahem*

Okay. And was it just me, or did Dumbledore seem to be just way to - frantic? Wow. And Hermione a bit shrill pretty much all the time.

Don't get me wrong - i loved it! I really did. The dragons, the ball, the hedge-maze, the gilly-weed and the transformation into the Man from Atlantis, complete with flippers! *Hi, [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003!!* I loved the tub scene and the 'i was mental' apology when Ron thought Harry had thrown him over and they weren't dating - err, friends anymore. Heee! All good stuff. And almost no goofy rubber-face expressions from Ron! Very nice.

And the twins! OMG! So cute with their long hair and their total confidence in absolutely everything and...and...hair...twins... *Goes for a lie-down* Basically - a fun as hell movie that Monstrous enjoyed, wasn't scared of, and sat through very, very well. She cried at the end a little and said she liked it. The crummy theatre seats made my back and knees ache. We bought our candy at the gas station 'cause omg movie candy prices. Jayzus. Wheeeeee!! Harry Potter!!

Let's see - that's all, i suppose. Lovely day today - cool and wet and windy. The morning was very nice with the whole sky veiled in slate-blue clouds except for a strip along the eastern horizon where the sun was coming up, all saffron and honey-gold. Everything smells like rain and oak leaves and woodsmoke and I'd die happy if it never got warmer.

That bath scene was my favorite. When he took off his robe and slipped into the tub I was all *guh* and just a tad upset with myself for lusting after a 16 year old boys...back.

*g*

Makes reading H/D porn a bit easier though!

Wasn't Draco purdy in all black with his pops? Sigh. I figured that his bit is coming up damn soon and I can't wait. I think Tom's gonna shine.

Glad you liked the film love!

I don't read the books so by the end of the film my arse was aching something awful! I would have cut the running time back a little, but hey, what do I know.

Thanks love!

And the twins! OMG! So cute with their long hair and their total confidence in absolutely everything and...and...hair...twins... *Goes for a lie-down* I second that!

Also on the candy prices. Caza and I met many years ago working at a movie theatre, and the prices have just gotten worse. I judge how "old" I'm getting by prime time movie prices. I can remember when $5 was the "no discounts" price. Now the matinee costs more than that. Jeez.

Your Thanksgiving sounds wonderful - I have played the pop culture Trivial Pursuit with DVD - isn't it cool? We had lunch with Caza's parents and then dinner with [livejournal.com profile] uberaeryn and the female side of her family and talked about Lost. Fun!

It was almost indian summer weather yesterday - and it's windy cold today. I'd like it a bit warmer. :(

Did I miss your posting day on [livejournal.com profile] fall_for_sx? It's entirely possible I did - I've been such the spazz lately due to my work schedule. Or is yours still to come? Or did you sign up this year? I'm question girl. *wink*

I totally agree with you. More Draco, More Twins!!!! I cried at the end too.

Sounds like it's pretty nice where you are :)

I'm glad you had a good thanksgiving.

Sue and I loved the movie, but your points are well taken. I kinda wished that they filmed all the stuff they left out and would release that on an extended DVD a la LOTR, but oh well. I thought they got to the crux of the story.

The weather here is way too windy which is causing it feel too cold. Your weather sounds much better.

With every movie we see how good the casting choices were because these kids are aging up so very well. Even the boy who plays Ron is growing into his face (while he may not be the most handsome of the lot), and I agree, the lack of rubber-face expressions was very welcome -- I think he's becoming a much better actor as he grows up.

Harry and the twins are really good-looking. But have you seen what the twins look like with their natural hair color? I think they look much better with red hair. Which is really odd, when you think of it. Wouldn't you assume that one's skin tones would usually complement the hair color you were born with?

*sigh*

The twins. I adore the Weasley twins. Not that I have a thing for twins normally *coughsKelly/Nickycough* or anything but they are so damn cute. When they got the backlash of the aging spell and were wrestling on the ground. *purrs*

I'm in love.

Yes, needed much more Snape. Alan Rickman was brilliant as always. Not so keen on this Dumbledore. I miss Richard Harris.

The part that killed me was the end, with Harry clinging to Cedric's body, weeping and wouldn't let anyone touch him. That was a broken lover crying if I ever saw one. Just lovely.

*sigh*

Now I need to see it again. *g*

*smooch*

Btw, I'm a trivial person too. My friends won't let me play anymore. I always win. *g*

Me likee GoF too! I felt like a big kid when we went. I was all squeeing and stuff and my kids were like, "Cut it out Mom". Sheesh!
Ahem, anyway. I agree Dumbledore was frantic, but I can see that as the return of V becomes more evident. I wanted more World Cup Game, if only to see more of Draco in his spiffy suit. Lovely Lucius in this film,as well. *shivers*
The Yule Ball was just as I pictured it, only no Draco. And no taking of house points that is never explained in the film. Loved Neville, he was too precious! The scene where Snape kept smacking the backs of their heads seemed a little out of synch to me. But the scene in the potions storage closet made up for it. Liked the Snape/McGonigal/Dumbledore scene. The three tasks were awesome and V was way creepy. Loved the appearance of the Death Eaters. All in all my favorite of the movies so far.

I liked the scene by itself.*chants "more Snape, more Snape* It just seemed awkward to me in the flow of the movie.

How long until the next one?.....*ready to start countdown*

Cool review, you made me giggle a lot.

Okay. And was it just me, or did Dumbledore seem to be just way to - frantic? Wow. And Hermione a bit shrill pretty much all the time.

I was so irritated at how they are making Hermione into such a.. a... girl. She's so strong and held together, that making her cry like a girl was just soooo OOC. I'm not sure if it was just the lines or Emma Watson. I dunno, but it was like Hermione left the building and a random het Mary Sue stepped in for her. *shrug*

I did the same thing with the twins, they are soooo shaggable. I like squeed when they started wrestling on the floor. *eyes dialate* *drool*

...Anyway! Cool review. :)
