I've just finished reading it and I'm so moved I only find French word to express myself! *happy sigh*
It's the kind of fic I can only describe as "achingly good".

I loved how chap. 7 ended with "Xander felt cold stone on the side of his face" and chap 8 began with "The stones were rough - cold - damp with the rising mist "! That's good!

And the end: "Home was Spike, rolling over cool and soft in the bed, pulling him close and snuggling deep under flannel and goose-down. Home...was forever in blue eyes and the scent of cinnamon, and Xander never counted the days."
I love how you referred to textures and particularly smells in this fic! It's so poetic and it makes the reader really feel!

I'm so glad you liked it...smell and textures are so important, they tend to anchor you solidly in what's happening - i'm so glad it made the story better for you.
