Changes, yay!!

Hullo, flist!
Yay, i'm home!
I had a lovely, lovely time. Visited with family, saw my sis, saw my brothers, saw the cousins. Monstrous Bebe had a blast, as usual, and much apple pie with cheddar cheese and fresh-from-New-Hampshire scallops and haddock was consumed.
Yum!

Now, though, i'm home, and 'Changes' is being updated! My fault, last week, for being an utter git and getting it off FAR to late to Edi, who has a REAL real life, as opposed to my quasi-real real life.
So she couldn't get to it until Friday, so she got to do two chapters.
And you get to read two chapters!

Skimmed both chapters of Changes last night, but was too much asleep to read well and comment, and now this morning my brain is all "HEY! Leaves on the porch! People will be maimed! Must CLEAN!" so no leisurely reread and analysis and cogent comments until that noisy superego thing gets placated.

Except: I've been wondering how you were going to handle this stuff, and you did it well, Flying Karamozov Brothers level of story juggling. SERIOUSLY loved the invocation of Brigit!

Hey, not kidding: keeping the what-ifs straight is the writing equivalent of juggling a chain saw, a Costco bag of Gummi Bears, a king-sized down pillow, and a potted geranium. Doing it while telling a compelling, readable story is like juggling those things while having knives thrown past your head.

FINALLY got stuff under control sufficiently that I could finish the story, but now I need to go figure out how to remove the smell of a spilled tablespoon of essential oil of lavendar from the kitchen.

Everything's turning so serious now, as it should, I guess, but it's still a wrench. Loved the practice truth spells, Ethan's contributions to helping Tara, and Buffy and Faith working together.

I wasn't surprised that you followed canon in having Xander lose an eye; it seems appropriate that in this battle there should be some terrible losses.

I haven't posted here before, but I just wanted to say how very much I enjoy this fic. I wait on tenter hooks for each new chapter. You have each characters voice so well, and I enjoy your original characters too. Wishing for a realistically happy ending, sometime way in the future (cos I don't want this fic to end).

gosh that was exciting.

I really liked Xander turning Spike into a puddle of goo on the couch with his massage and Buffy teasing the vampire hehe...I could use one of those

Well you had to go and follow ME but perhaps when the FE is dealt with Angel will tell Spike about the Pockla demon healers (AtS 2.18 "Dead End") and Spike will then get his Xander fixed up.
