It's June 1st!

How in the hell did that happen? I swear, this year has lurched and zoomed and twirled along in the weirdest way.....
So, my June Something question the first:

What's a new fandom that you've fallen into since the last June Something/in the last year?

HUH. A memory challenge! Heee.
Well, this is embarrassing. Sort of. I don't think i have? I mean - I've watched a lot of new tv shows/movies, but I have not ventured into fandom/fic for anything 'new' in a while. So many good shows that I simply have *no* interest in reading fic about.

I think, maybe, the newest one would be Umbrella Academy? I do remember reading some fun stories in that 'verse. No shipping, mostly it was family stuff, kind of fix-it or AU stuff where the world didn't end, heh. A lot of Five and Vanya being buddies, Klaus getting some love, kind of thing.

Which now makes me really really look forward to the new season! Which won't be out until, what, end of July?!!!

Anyway - I do believe that will have to be my answer. Anyone have a rec for something they think I might enjoy, feel free! Everyone could use more recs in their life.

I am really excited for season 2 of Umbrella Academy. I think it will be very interesting to see how they handle all of them being deaged.

Of if they'll do a mix of young/old, or what.

Also - explain that weird thing with the dying wife and the spaceships? Things? Flying off? So weird!

I'm much the same - I can watch shows these day wihtout a burning desire to fill in the gaps *G*

However I did a week long rewatch of SGA and felt a twinge and need to write again.

I have no idea whether modern shows just give us more character relationships on screen or that for most of the time I'm binge watching rather than stringing eps out from week to week so there's not that sense of anticipation and build up compared to how I used to watch things like X-files, Stargate(s), Angel/Buffy even Leverage and Teen Wolf...

I did get a bit fannish about The Witcher (as in I watched it, ordered ALL the novels, watched it again - twice - and aread a tonne of fic)!

And I'd completely forgotten that The Umbrella Academy was comng back for a second season! \o/

Maybe it is the binge thing (though when I could rent a season of something I was fangrrrling, I would binge that, too....)

Or maybe it's just that so much stuff lately seems schlocky to me, or redundant, or stale..... I dunno.

Plus - just too much relationship *drama*, in everything (even in some of my favorites). That was never something I enjoyed.

I mean the whole Witcher thing should have been a foregone conclusion. Henry Cavill, the long hair, propensity for dressing in black, intelligent, snarky sense of humour and I was in eyeballs deep before he took off his shirt *G*

Also why do I not have Witcher icons? (Ahem I had to go find at least one Witcher icon before I could post this reply) *G* Need moar though!
