Damn, I love you. Your descriptions are just amazing, especially when you were describing the air before they left home. *hugs*

...until they'd pounced and held him down and overwhelmed him with their own feelings. - Them's our boys! I have such a visceral feeling for the essence of each of them in the link. ::purrs::

For her to admit she needed help - for her to have called Angel - called him - and asked for Spike... Made him go cold. - Too true. ::shudders::

The 'Welcome to Sunnydale' sign loomed in the headlights and for once Xander gave in to the devil's voice in his mind and he rammed it, full speed. - Bwah, ha ha! ::pumps fist::

"Girls - these are... Well, these guys are family." - As Spike observed, Good on her!

Buffy had a smile on her face, a sort of 'you're gonna eat crow' smile that Spike rather liked. - ::smirks predatorily at Kennedy, crouches low and wiggles ass::

"You guys look like some old-fashioned family portrait." She cocked her head to one side and a slightly wistful look came into her eyes. - ::hugs Buffy::

The scents of the water - of woodsmoke, wet earth, and the cinnamon-clove spice of dead leaves - was intoxicating and Spike breathed it all in - - Itty bitty tense irregularity... The scents... were intoxicating...

Oh, Tabaqui, I'm getting nervous. We're getting closer and closer to Xander losing his eye and Spike dying and surely you won't be cruel to us and do these awful things to our boys! I really am getting scared here.

I love the way Buffy let Spike mess with Kennedy. Brilliant, my dear. And I could just see them all huddled around Tara, so sweet. And I'm so glad to have this chapter when I'm so far away from home. Thank you.

Yay, Giles is back! And Ethan too? Please say yes! I do love your Buffy, she's so much more loveable than the "real" Season 7 Buffy -- I'm watching Buffy Season 5 right now and that's the Buffy I love, before she got all depressed, miserable and cruel. I know she wasn't treating Spike very nicely in that season but she was loving and kind to her friends and really, she didn't have much reason to treat Spike all that well yet either.

Thank you! This is the only bit of brightness in my horrible, flu-encrusted world.

Okay now that I've been maudlin...
God! Your desriptions of the link, and family are so real I can taste it. This is the Buffy that should have been: strong, struggling a bit, but trusting and confiding in her friends.

And thank you for putting Kennedy in her place, first off - I hate her! *foot stomp*
Now Giles (and Ethan, right?), and it all falls into place.
Please don't bring Willow back, pretty please. *sad, puppy eyes*

I too, amd getting worried about what's gonna happen. I trust you, you've never betrayed and hurt me before, but I will be most vexed if Xander comes out of this less an eye, and Spike as a big, pile of dust. Most vexed! *points accusitorily*

*sends winge'd bunnies with tissues, chicken soup, ginger ale and warm flannel nightie*

thanks!

God you can bring out the emotion. First of all, loved the descriptions of Derio being afraid his feelings were overwhelming the link and how they reassured him.

And the Kennedy / Spike encounter? Perfect from the dialogue, to the moves to Buffy's reaction. And their greeting of Tara...oh, so lovely. :::bounces hugely:::

Wow -- there was so much to like in this chapter! The descriptions in the beginning, Derio's 'loudness' in the link, Xander running over the sign, the coming-home feelings when they see Dawn and then Tara, and Spike teaching Kennedy a lesson. Yum!

You captured the confusing, too-many-girls-too-little-space feeling of that season without keeping the bitchy!Buffy that she had become. Thank you. This story really is doing a lot to take the bad taste of that season out of my brain!

Wow such a jam packed chapter lovely, do so adore your descriptive writing, I'm there, if you know what I mean.

I'm afraid I'm starting to panic a tad though we've entered your version of season 7 *best panicked look*

Anticipation is a killer you know ;)

Loved every word hun *smooch*

You just melt my insides. Love insecure Spike, love, love, love the reunion of the family. Love your Tara. She is so awesome. Love you for not ending the chapter before Buffy got her pseudo-Dad back. It would have been so sad if she had gotten left out in the cold with all the family lovin'. I like your S7 Buffy much better and go you for taking Kennedy down a notch. Now if you could just have Spike tell Rona to shut up? That would make my day!

Viva La Hug!

I even did a re-read so to refresh m'brain. I liked it even more the 2nd time 'round. From Xander running over the Welcome to the 'Dale sign, to the family reunion, to Kennedy's "attack." The images your descriptions of sight and scent create are... I have not the word. Seriously.

And you keep making me like Buffy. I stopped have warm fuzzies for her in after Joyce passed and then you re-write and I adore her, she's humble and strong (on the inside) and fun.
:: kicks Marti Noxon... hard... again ::

Anyhoo, there's a pressie in your inbox. You have been warned

Oh yeah, during Spike's last scene in S-7, after my tears had ceased (yes, I cried. Yes, I knew he was signed on to do Angel. Still bawled like an infant.) I was like, "Buffy was strong enough to where the amulet, now she suddenly doesn't have to sacrifice herself? She's the slayer, he's Spike, it's not a hard call Joss! She's not gonna do Angel guest spots, let her burn!"

Yeah, I had season 6&7 issues. Big ones. Your Buffy? So much better.
