While we were bemoaning our poverty or the screwy schedules that kept us from attending Writercon, a group of us got together for some chats.
[livejournal.com profile] writernoncon member [livejournal.com profile] margarks tossed out a lovely plot bunny for a tag-story and invited us to play in [livejournal.com profile] that_night_tag. This is the story so far, and while it's not an open-tag story, it'd be great if anybody wanted to read and comment. There's no fb thread, so maybe...fb the author off their LJ?

*We still have some kinks to work out*

Anyway - read and enjoy!
One Memorable Night

*off to natter at the other players to tag!!*

Kewl! ::friended already::

Lookin' good! I can so see Xander making a living off comic books/graphic novels. ;o)
Saturday, August 28th, 2004 08:05 am (UTC)
I'm doing, okay, thanks. :o)

Just haven't been able to write, which is a pain, seeing as I have a challenge deadline coming up at the end of the month and I haven't actually written a single word of the fic yet. Haven't even got a clear idea of where it's going, just the challenge and the first line. I'll probably write the whole damn thing on Monday/Tuesday. I live for pressure. ;o)

Oh, and then there's the fact that I've been a little distracted - reading Repo all the way through again. I'd held off reading the last 20 or so chapters because having to wait every week was killing me with Teh Angst! Hee! So, intense hours at the computer reading and reading and reading and skimming my flist and reading some more. Damn, but that's one amazing story!

And I should be going to bed soon so I can get up and write, but I'm now rereading Yin's Long Time Gone, and can't stop until I'm finished. (Obsessive, moi? ;o)

Was I seeing things earlier or did you mention updated Credence soon?
::bounces hopefully::

Maybe once it's finished and they're all happy and safe you'll be able to reread it. I only went through one box of tissues this time, because even though it was really really sad in places, I *knew* it was going to get better. Hee!
::is a sap::
~~~encouraging pornathon vibes~~~ ;o)
And it's the weekend! More Changes!
::bounces and squees in anticipation::
Hee! *smooch*
I'm bloody-minded enough *in the 'i can imagine gore sense* that those scenes kinda creep me out.
Yeah, me too, but I'm wierd in that I like the creeped out feeling.
I have a bunny!! Thank gods!!
*hugs you*
Yay!
::feeds the bunny::
::hugs you back::
Changes!
Wheeeeeee!
:: tucks her Mexican-American side back and lets the black out ::
Y'all best to keep on updatin' [livejournal.com profile] that_night_tag.
I'd like to be readin' suhmore of it real soon like.
:: promptly reverts back to Mexican-American ::
Because, really, despite the multi-layered ethnic back ground I couldn't be black if my life depended on it. There's a white girl trapped inside me, I just know it. But seriously, I really enjoyed that thread. I hope it continues soon, I'll be watching.
Hee, such a good pose for Xander, it had to be used twice. Actually, I can't take credit for mine; [livejournal.com profile] literati made it.
Saturday, August 28th, 2004 08:32 am (UTC)
I made mine but it's not uber fancy
I know what you mean, every time I make an icon I'm proud of I see one floating around that shows me what a novice I am. But still, I pluck along, my PSP8 trial's gonna run out and I'll have to install PS for lack of another program. I'm very afraid of PS, it seems hard. Eh.
Saturday, August 28th, 2004 06:21 pm (UTC)
It's PS8 and Image Ready. Actually I'm borrowing it from some guy that offered to show me how to use it, but that would involve me hanging out with him for an extended amount of time and...I just don't want to do that ; )
Ok I hurt you if you don't finish this. *cough*[livejournal.com profile] followyou_rpg*cough*[livejournal.com profile] shameless_rpg*cough*. Oh sorry Damn Cold. *sniff* Anyhoo there will be a wet noodle in your future girly and we both know the pain that will cause. :P
Ooh, I love that! I'm really looking forward to reading more. I loved that he thought about using his credit card just so the kid would see his name. Wonderful touch.
This is great! This will be fun to read! But that's not why I'm scurrying to write you a comment! Yes, I know I sound demented, but my husband just showed me a web site where they listed the top 100 banned books and I finally found the name of that Zilpha Keatley Snyder book that I thought was the one you'd found but wasn't... Do you remember? The one with the poltergeist? It's number 98 on the list and it's The Headless Cupid. Yay, now that annoying itch in the back of my head is *gone*! And why on EARTH would it be banned, I can't remember a single thing about it that anyone would find objectionable... maybe just the idea of the supernatural, although I thought that in the end the poltergeist was revealed to be something non-supernatural.
It was really interesting to go down the list and try to figure out why each book would be banned. Some of course were blindingly obvious, like "The New Joy of Gay Sex."
Intriguing start to the story -- I hope it continues!
