...my little town is flooding. And so is my basement. Luckily, we are up on a hill, but half the town is *not*.
This is about a block away - directly to the right of this building (the right side of the picture) is the vet we use. I really hope they got all their animals out - they not only have lots of kittens/cats for adoption, but several animals that live at the vet's office, as well as patients, of course.

This is about...a two minute walk from my house. Under all that brown water is a new bridge they just started construction of last month, to replace the 'low water crossing' that flooded and made the road impassable every time it rained. I really hope the houses down there are okay! Plus - i hope the new bridge isn't washed out, it wasn't done yet!

I swear, it was continuous thunder and lightning last night, for about five hours - I don't think I've ever seen so much! They say we're going to get rain all week. Gah! Anybody else in a flood zone - be careful out there!
In other news - our friend Terry won the competition!! He's going to be flown out to Las Vegas sometime soon to claim his custom handicap-equipped van. THANK YOU, everyone who voted or boosted the signal. He is so happy and grateful.
Also - I signed up for the SPNAUBigBang!! *flails* Sadly, the number of writers to artists is pretty lopsided, so please - if you're an artist - go sign up! You have until Oct. 31st to sign up. I've already got over 9000 words written, need to get to 15,000 and i'm feeling good! :)
Lastly - someone sent me a package addressed to 'Tabaqui the Bloody' - who? Who sent me that? Comment or PM, please. :)
Stay dry, flist!

My town sits on a plateau but we still have flash flooding from all the creeks and washes that criss-cross the thing. Glad you are okay and hope there isn't too much damage and no loss of life, human or animal.

Me, too - i'm nervous about the vet, they have so many 'live in' animals. I just hope they cleared them out last night.

I'm so glad about your friend, and that he'll be able to be a little more independent and able to get about and do more things with the help of his van. That's wonderful news :)
