We've had more than usual this spring. A couple days ago, we had a cloudy sort of day that ended with a long ribbon of a storm scrolling across the sky, with visible skeins of rain coming down.

It was gorgeous! Afterward, the sun was setting, and reflecting on leftover clouds in the east and it was *beautiful*.

I had the Bebe take a couple pictures - you can even see a snippet of rainbow in the first one.

View from my front porch in June....

I'm sad no one made the connection between my Tumblr url (CheyneLightening) and the name of the Tumblr itself (It Goes). Mostly because that means not many people have read one of my very favorite books of all times, Captains Courageous, by Rudyard Kipling.

(Upon finding out his long-lost son is actually alive, Harvey Cheyne, senior, millionaire, orders his private rail car to be brought out and cleared for a speedy passage east. His secretaries, Miss Kinzey and Milsom, are to fix it via telegrams all over the country.)

"But see here, about that Noo York Limited. Chauncey Depew himself couldn't hitch his car to her," Miss Kinsey suggested, recovering herself.

"Yes, but this isn't Chauncey. It's Cheyne--lightning. It goes."

Dunno why, but that line in particular has always stuck with me, and it makes me smile. So. :)

According to my tumblr, CheyneLightening doesn't exist. I tried to find you, though. Stalking you faithfully since... Geez, something like 2003.

*smootch*

I read CC a long time ago, but my favorite Kipling will always be Kim.

The clouds look gorgeous especially in that second picture. It looks like the colour is catching fire within them. I love :)

The clouds are gorgeous. I haven't read Kipling in forever though I meant to re-read Captains Courageous after seeing My Boy Jack. I need to get on that.

Lovely snaps. Looks like the Bebe knows how to handle a camera :)

I confess, with shame, that although I do have a soft spot for Kipling "Captain Courageous" has not made my reading list yet. I'll get on that ;)
