That i totally forgot to post about. Sheesh.
The first is the anniversary of my LJ. On the 25th of April, 2004, I created my LJ! Nine years. NINE. Wow. I have met *so many* amazing people (and people that, as far as i'm concerned, are family) - read so much incredible fic, engaged in so many interesting and enlightening discussions, seen so many things....
Having this journal has been one of the best things ever.
The second is - as of about May 23rd or so, we have been living in our lovely stone house for five years. Whooo! I love it more every day. I am *not* loving the stupid freaking bats that are apparently roosting in the attic/eaves and pooping all over the front steps. Thank you, stupid bats, for making me sweep up your poop every day. That must change.
But we have a wren pair nesting in the wren house for the fifth year in a row, the rose of sharon bushes along the fence are even bigger now, there's a *mulberry* tree, where the hell did *that* come from?, and the wee maple i planted the first year we moved here is now taller than the Bebe.
I think it's about time for new curtains, though. They're looking a bit the worse for wear, thankyouverymuch, Jack, for climbing them repeatedly.
All in all - two very good anniversaries. :)
In other news - i've been watching past seasons of 'MasterChef: Australia'. Its very different than the US version, and in some ways *far* superior. I'm enjoying it.

Congratulations on your anniversaries. I completely missed my LJversary this year, since I was on the road. For all the glitches and Frank the Goat, this is still the best place, I think.

Wow, I can't believe how time passes! It's probably because I live in this gigantic continuous, *now*. It really makes things confusing...but hey--congrats on a really great anniversary. Five years...and nine years, my stars. *shakes head* I should probably nap a little.

Are bats protected in your area? I've been reading Robin McKinley's blog; she lives in England and bats are protected and seemingly allowed to roost where they will even in people's attics.

We've never had a problem with pets climbing the curtains but I see totally get Frank chewing the wires in the this place. The amount of things we have had to replace from one certain kitty chewing through the wiring. I'm surprised and extremely relived it never once electrocuted itself.
Your stone house sounds lovely :)

We're kinda addicted to Masterchef in the household - the current season is kinda annoying because they have a boys vs. girls thing going on but apparently that's only going for 2 weeks and then they switch back to the regular format so we're giving it a chance.
We went to a MasterChef pop-up restaurant in Sydney last year - it was awesome! The temporary digs were lovely and the food was AMAZEBALLS.
