To all my American flisties - Happy Independence Day! Stay cool, have fun, and be safe!

I rather love this picture...'Rosie to the Rescue'!

"...cover that appeared on [The Saturday Evening Post's] September 4th, 1943 issue. It was entitled “Rosie To The Rescue.” For this cover, Rockwell created a “liberty girl” dressed in patriotic clothes but cast as a jack-of-all-trades composite, capable of doing any number of civilian jobs – nurse, mechanic, telephone operator, milkman, farmer, etc."

From 'Pop History Dig: Rosie the Riveter'.

I always liked Rockwell too. I remember seeing a showing of his work at the Guggenheim a number of years ago. George Lucas and Stephen Spielberg are also fans of his.

Hope you had a wonderful 4th.
