Or, that was me since Thursday night, in bed or on the couch. Dear gods. Getting way, way too old for this shite. I wish i had the money/health insurance to get my gall bladder fixed or out or *whatever*.

Anyway...once the fever and chills and 'please let me die now' internal cramping agony was gone, i still couldn't eat or drink anything until late Saturday, when i had six Club crackers and half a glass of ginger ale.

So i feel about as floppy and weak as wet tissue paper and my brain is working at half speed. I've missed a ton of LJ, and rl news, and all sorts of *stuff*. I've been sitting her trying to catch up by my brain...will not compute. I have a ton of open tabs.

I did manage to watch Show in my narcoleptic haze and loved it, even with the constant beeping and bopping of tornado! and severe thunderstorm warnings! all over the place every five minutes. Boys in COWBOY HATS. Not enough glee in the friggin' world. We got no tornadoes, just a ton of rain, thus making my mole-track-riddled death-trap yard into a *muddy with standing pools of icy water* mole-track-riddled death-trap. The Goggy (tm) rather loves slurping rainwater out of pits in the grass, however, and joyfully rolled in the sodden clumps of cut grass. Silly goggy.

Egg Day, as you might imagine, was a non-starter for us - apparently i'm the only one that can buy chocolate bunnies - and also my car with the dead battery has sat since Thursday since i was too sick on Friday to go get the battery replaced. Le sigh!!

Also also? Our router died, so internetz was sporadic, because only one computer could be plugged into the modem at a time, and usually that was the SO's. I was on the couch, anyway, hazily watching a Waltons marathon. John Boy! (And i now desperately want Waltons fanfic. Yuletide Archive, here i come.)

Yes, a post of much woe and little interest, for that i apologize. I probably missed some posts while trying to catch up, and only commented occasionally, so very sorry. Right now, i'm sipping a weeny glass of cranberry/grape juice and pecking at mac-and-cheese which is...okay, but too soggy. Stupid, stupid, stupid getting-old body.

Now for something completely different. If you plan on getting a passport to leave the US any time soon, you will want to read this. They are changing the information you need to give them in order to get the thing. They want some new stuff. Like what, you say?

Oh, nothing terribly important, just "...all addresses since birth; lifetime employment history including employers’ and supervisors names, addresses, and telephone numbers; personal details of all siblings; mother’s address one year prior to your birth; any “religious ceremony” around the time of birth; and a variety of other information. According to the proposed form, “failure to provide the information requested may result in … the denial of your U.S. passport application.".

Yeah. If you want to leave a strongly worded 'hell no!' comment, go to that link. Jayzus fuck.
Anyway, still not 100 percent so i can't say i'll reply to any comments tonight. I'm mostly well, though, so thank you, anyone, with condolences.

:)

That passport crap is pretty whacked. I could see (maybe) another country wanting the info before letting you in, but...wow.

Gallbladder attacks SUCK. I had mine removed (there is no fixing -- they take it out, period, unfortunately) a couple weeks before my son turned a year. Because it was a military hospital/insurance, and it wasn't life-threatening, I had to wait six months for the surgery. That was NOT fun.

Things that will aggravate it (therefore things to avoid): fatty foods, acidic foods, spicy foods. Basically, the fun things.

I hope you feel better soon :)

I'm sorry the fates are knocking you down and then kicking you spitefully. Hope you stay feeling better.

I should just stay in Canada, shouldn't I?

{{{moar hugs and smishes and wellness vibes}}}

I must have linked you to that Swiss Family Robinson fic just as you were asking for Waltons links. LOL! We are almost in tune. *g*

I have bad news. I have just checked AO3 and the Yuletide archives and they have no Waltons fic. According to an interests search, lj has no Waltons comms. The only fic I have been able to find is 17... at the Pit of Voles.

I am so, so sorry.

Wow. Those passport proposals are downright scary - in a Hotel California type way.

Sorry to hear you've been ill, hon. I hope you get better soon *hugs*

Oh Lord... there's nothing worse than an attack of gallstones! The dear old NHS yanked my gall bladder out years back... I did find something that helped though while I was on the waiting list, it's called Buscupan and it stops the cramping and thus the agony http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100000395.html

Oh my goodness! You're obviously due for a streak of good luck and good health. *sends chicken soup for recovery*

Bloody hell, they don't want you guys leaving home, do they?!
My record-keeping is anal, but even I couldn't provide my past employers' information to that degree of detail!

You have my sympathy for the gall bladder problems. I found the only thing that helped with pain was drinking plain hot water. It wasn't a cure but did reduce the length of the painful bit. I had mine out years ago before keyhole surgery but I was glad it was gone regardless of the post-op stuff. Do you know what set it off as it is often an indicator of liver problems that you may have simmering out of sight.
Get well and I hope your luck changes soon.

Ach, love!

*smootchesandhugs*

Hope you feel better soon. That sucks.

However, I would point out that the affliction your family has that keeps them from going to the store and getting things is apparently contagious, as my family has it as well. I have not gone grocery shopping in about a month and we are living on canned and boxed stuff, and yet no one has suggested that anyone but me go to the store. Le sigh.

I'm sorry you are feeling poorly. I have a friend suffering from gall bladder issues and it's the pits.

Waltons! I happened upon a couple of episodes recently and remembered how we used to gather around the TV and watch as a family.

I have no Waltons fanfic but here's a link you might enjoy. I read this article in our local paper this morning and thought of you and your hubby: http://www.oregonlive.com/living/index.ssf/2011/04/tattoo_exhibit_in_astoria_the.html

An Oregon museum has put together an exhibit about maritime tattoos. I'd like to see it!

I hope you feel better soon!

Ack! My cuz had terrible problems with the gall bladder for a loooong time before she finally bowed to the inevitable and had surgery. I am soooo sorry for you. *huggles you gently*

"Candygram for Mongo..."Frontierland was a world of happiness, yes? Geez--these last few eps are jossing the hell out of the Non-Stop Continuous WIP I've been chewing over, lol!

Get better, love, and stay safe! *shmoochies*!

Oh love, so sorry you're feeling so crappy. I hope it passes soon and in the meantime that you get looked after by the family.

The passport stuff is amazing. I remember when we did our emigration/immigration paperwork we had to do all the employment history stuff and all the addresses where we'd lived - trying to remember the addresses of four years worth of student flats was a real struggle. But even with the complexity of that paperwork, they didn't ask for some of the things the US is asking for on this passport form.

Take care love. Hugs you very gently.

Er... your passports seem harder to get than it was to pass my security clearance. WTF?
Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 01:27 am (UTC)
Also, only the last portion of my comment went through. Damn you, touch pad... Anyway, trying again... I've never had any gallblader issues (thank bloody FUCK), but I imagine they hurt like a son of a bitch. Hope you feel better soon. *hugs*

Aww! I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I'll ask Dean to come and administer some Frontier healing...he'll be over with the leeches shortly. :P

I shared that passport foolishness on my facebook page and encouraged other people to yell about it. What a load.

Feel better! *smish!*
