That's what i get for posting tired! The [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen stories are now posting, and my contribution is up! Wheeee! Anonymous, of course. :)

Okay, so - Writercon. I was *not* Ms Social Butterfly, i'll admit it. BUT! I did indeed have a lovely time. I got to hug on [livejournal.com profile] _beetle_, and I got to chat about tattoos with [livejournal.com profile] nwhepcat, and I got to hear [livejournal.com profile] lunabee34 be as cute in person as she is on her lj.

I got a lovely, lovely cloisonne bracelet from [livejournal.com profile] spikndru - which i'm still wearing, by the way! I didn't give you a proper thank you, bay-bee, but i was so touched! And i love the colors, so thank you thank you!

Oh, my, who else, who else? [livejournal.com profile] essene and [livejournal.com profile] dancetomato and [livejournal.com profile] mosca who is the uber-editor over at [livejournal.com profile] handbasketnews, and....oh, bother. My very sad brain fails me, because there were *others*, oh yes, others, who were lovely and friendly and *hi hi hi*, you, pop up and tell me we met because.....sheesh. I spent a whole weekend staring at bosoms for no reason, apparently! :)

Oh! And of course, saw [livejournal.com profile] margarks there, who is plotting another trip to my neck of the woods, and had a most lovely seafood dinner - and intriguing conversation - with [livejournal.com profile] executrix and [livejournal.com profile] emeraldsedai and of course [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou

ALSO, also, Minneapolis is a freakin' amazing town, so damn neat, such fun stuff to look at. Snow and i walked *all over*, for literally hours, and we both had neck aches from peering *upwards* half the day. Fountains! Fiddly bits of gorgeous architecture! Little shops with incredibly expensive imported old stuff! And new stuff, and nifty stuff. Art galleries and painted walls and *churches*, oh yes, can't not see the churches.

So very lovely. :)

Now, i must to bed. I noticed that LJ is not passing along comments, oh what fun. Apparently the less-than-awesome way LJ has been running since yesterday/today is down to some person - possibly the Russian government? - hacking LJ, Twitter and Facebook. Weird stuff!! I'm also watching Criminal Minds. Wheeeeee! I luff them. I can't believe that Garcia/the actress wasn't even *mentioned* in the credits for the entirety of season one. Lame! I do adore she and Morgan flirting, though, and of course Reid in all his geeky, wooby glory. And i rather miss Elle, but i like Prentiss, and JJ rocks. Hotch is adorably uptight and i must say...while i enjoyed him, i don't actually miss Gideon.
*plows through season three*
*yawns*

Goodnight!

First, Writercon was in Minn? You were like 3 hours away from me! Also yes it's a lovely lovely city, I need more time to explore it.

Also that explains why all my sites have been running slow as molasses. >\

Love love love Criminal Minds, totally on edge about the last season finale (no not gonna spoil it ;)) and can't wait for the new season to start. Morgan and Reid and Garcia and JJ and Hotch and Prentiss and Rossi(once he got comfortable) are just utter love. JJ and Reid and Prentiss are like tied for favorite character because I just adore them.

Gideon I cried about when it happened, got over it when Rossi decided to be awesome. He's a whole lot gentler than Gideon in some ways and I rather like that. I just love awesome teams.

So glad you had a great time at Writercon! Ms Social Butterfly or not, you got around. *g* I have such fond memories of Atlanta.

WriterconUK is starting a week today and wish you could be there. I'd've pressed you into service for a panel. ;)

Love Criminal Minds! I do miss Mandy but he seems to bail on successful series so it wasn't a huge surprise when he went. Reid is a true wooby, to be compared with Zac in Bones and Rodney. *sigh*

I am so jealous! Proper green with it, I am. I'd promised myself last time that I'd make this WriterCon but, well, other things happened. Never mind, I'll definitely be at the next one. Until then I'll just have to live vicariously through you all.

I love Criminal Minds. The relationship between Garcia and Morgan is fantastic, they're simply awesome together.

If you like Criminal Minds, you might want to check out Shadow Unit, an online project of SF writers Emma Bull, Elizabeth Bear, and others; they describe it as fan fiction for a show that doesn't exist. The show has some similarities to Criminal Minds in that it's about behavior analysts/profilers/crime investigators in the FBI, but it has science fiction/supernatural elements as well. Here's the story of how and why they started the project.

It just might be your cup o' tea; the writing is really good. Some of the main characters have LJs! They're halfway through season 2, and it is absolutely riveting (as in, the season 1 finale had me up until 2 AM)!

I know! It was impossible to really talk at the party. At some point, we shall get the chance to talk, maybe at the next Writercon.

Ooh yes. I caught up on S1 of CM a year and a bit ago and ended up plowing right on through to S3.

It's an interesting show in that they all have serious issues in their past. You might say they're

My theory with Elle is she'll turn up one day as an un-sub.

I can't tell you how great it was to meet you in person!!!!

Minneapolis was a great city.

::hugs on you::

Dude. Staring at bosoms is its own reward.

And FIC!

I'll have to see if I can guess which is yours, though that shouldn't be hard. Follow the trail of awesome, and bam! [livejournal.com profile] tabaqui. . . .

Why on Earth would the Russian government hack those sites? Russians are odd. But they have great bone-structure. I gotta read that article.

Minneapolis has even more Thai people/businesses than it did six years ago, but I saw fewer Ethiopians and Somalians. Though I spent a lot of time near the hotel. I was Ms. Social Butterfly, but not Ms. Sightseer :/

Hee, you and seafood. Now that I know your Achilles heel, madame, beware!

I'm thrilled you had such a good time, love. I'm living the experience vicariously through everyone else!

I seriously thought of going this year as it was not that far over the border now I'm on this side of the pond. Then I considered the complications of still having a UK passport with a UK address on it - having a Canadian residency card with a different address and still having to get a US Visa because of said UK passport. I decided my head hurt and I'd probably end up confusing the hell out of the border folks. God knows I'm confusing myself!

Still, it sounds like a fun time was had by all. Next time - nods to self...
