I'm all excited all over again. Another podfic! I dunno why it's so flail-inducing, but it just *is*.
So -
twasadark asked to make podfic of my Supernatural story The Song of the Treadmill, and of course i was flattered and said yes.
It's now available for download in several places, but i'll just give you all the one link.
:)
Treadmill Podfic.
Thank you,
twasadark, so very much! It's lovely!

I keep thinking I should treat myself to an iPod. I like the idea of having all my music just *there* you know? I ponder it too long though and talk myself out of buying one; would I really use it or would it just be a waste of money, that kind of thing.
I dunno. *sigh*

As I told twasadark, I wanted to do the story justice. It was wonderful!

I love the way both Sam and Dean are scarred but learn to depend on one another (esp Dean); I love the side characters, both the OCs and the slightly warped canon ones; I love the world and even more so how you reveal it--hinting with the first refusal of Ellen taking dollars and then being so tightly in Sam's pov of registering differences without exactly understanding what they mean (and not asking because he's both still too traumatized of being here and maybe doesn't want to know).
Anyway, thanks for an amazing story!!!

It's so odd to hear it read - i don't read anything of my own aloud, i don't know why, but i just don't. So listening to it was pretty amazing to me. I'm glad it 'works' as a pod - i was a little nervous that maybe it wouldn't, so your fb is really making my day!
So glad you enjoyed it!
And - doing a little self-pimp here... There's also podfic of my 'Wolfpack' series. Well, the first three stories, anyway.

I don't know if she reads Spander or not, honestly. But i'm sure a fan of her podfics could ask...

And then towards the end when a character mentioned that Sam had only been in that world for 7 days I had to do a double take because it felt like *I'd* been there forever. This was a really great reading of an excellently written story.

Unfortunately, this story has been on my reading list forever and I never had time to sit down and enjoy it. Thursday I downloaded the podfic and Friday I finally got to listen to it at work.
'Song of the Treadmill' is everything I hoped it would be and nothing I expected. The writing is lyrical and poetic. The characterization is fascinating - slightly slanted, but honest versions of Bobby, Sam and Dean - original characters that hold up. A unique and well-executed premise.
I suppose I'm not the first person to fall in love with Sam-dog.
The story made me ache for the boys and soothed the hurt at the same time. Beautiful work.

*And i'm blushing over the idea that Treadmill is a 'classic' - heeee! That's just....neat. Heh.*

Do you have a master fic list somewhere? What's the easiest way for me to find all of your SPN stories?
no subject
All my Supernatural fic is under the tag 'spn'. A few stories also have their own tags. Treadmill, of course, and then 'thou born' for Thou Born to Match the Gale, 'two roads', 'wolfpack' for all the wolfpack 'verse, 'aftermath' for that 'verse, 'apocabigbang' and 'dust' for Comes to Dust, 'remix' for fics I've written for remix challenges, as well as links to the originals and my own fic that were remixed..... Let's see...'sense' is a one shot, and then 'china sea' is my RPS/J2 Vietnam era fic. Oh! 'phoenix' is also a one-shot, 'gen landslide' is my 'Dean has a son?!' 'verse. :)
I think that's it! I'm pretty sure i do have *everything* under spn, but sometimes it's easier if they're also under a 'verse or fic name. I have some very early stuff in my memories that was posted in a comm and isn't on my lj at all.
Hope that wasn't too rambley! Enjoy! :) And thanks again!
