Hallo!

Yes, another fic-free post. But [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou gave me a neat prompt and it got me working on more PTSD!Dean fic, so...that's good.

Mostly, just been settling into our new house, realizing that i need to own about twenty plastic storage bins, and getting used to mopping the hardwood, which is fun, actually, 'cause it looks so pretty.

But also, i wanted to put a link out there for anyone who's interested... My dear Mum, who is in her seventies, has decided to try out a small business venture. Is this a plea for you, my flist, to rush off and buy? No! But, please take a look and pass this along if you think anyone you know would like to see.

She's got a ton of lace that her mom, or her aunts, or her mother in law made, and has been using it to make dolls. They're very cute little 'primitive' dolls, in hats, with baskets or flowers or parasols. So, if you think you might like them, or know someone who would.....give 'em a look-see.

I'm just...proud of my mom. New things are a little scary, so...i'm happy she took the leap.
:)

Petite Fleur.

Hi! *waves*

They're adorable! Now if I just knew who to give one to....

Hand-made lace? wow, I know how much work that is!

Not to overwhelm her or anything, but you might get more hits for that type of stuff at etsy. People there are looking specifically for handmade.

Those dolls are just the things that I and my grandmother *love* to collect. Sadly, money is very tight at the moment otherwise I'd rush off to buy, but I'd definately keep the site in mind for the future and pass on the link to grandmother!

I clicked on the link just to have a look, and those are really cool.

Good for your mom!

oh geez--they're really really cute. If I wasn't in the process of trying to empty the house, I'd be horribly tempted!

apparently you are not aware of my fatal attraction to little handicrafts? It took hard work to conquer that addiction, sister! Poor Mr. Roxy, trying to pick his way through various teddies, dolls and dried flower arrangements! *sheds silent tear for him*

she should get some, they really are cute. But yeah, nothing kills like putting a ton of work into something and not getting returns.

s got a ton of lace that her mom, or her aunts, or her mother in law made,

while I realise she's wanting to put these pieces of lace to good use, I hope she plans to keep the best examples to pass on to the next generations; as a museum professional these examples of techniques/skills are priceless.....but then your country's museums may differ

How wonderful that your mom is trying something new and creative, and using something so beautiful and meaningful at the same time. Congratulations and best wishes to her!

Hee! They're very sweet. Well done your mom.
The little bride looks just like a bridesmaid's dress I had when I was about 5 - it's even the same lace, but my sash was lilac. :-)

Mopping rocks . . . up until someone has to walk through. Then you try to murder them with the mop, and the authorities don't take to kindly to that. . . .

Those containers are minor miracles--I've got three and wish I had ten more. You can fit a fat-assload of books in them, and clothes, and--well, just everything.

I am in love with the plastic containers. I admit it.

PTSD--must read. I'm online for the first time today for more than fifteen minutes and I'm trying to do everything at once, including write penpals who probably think I'm dead.

Your mom's dolls are very pretty--I especially like the second one, in the white dress. Are there only the two left, or once those are sold, will your mom put up more.

Is she still making little dolls? I notice there aren't any on ebay atm. Would she consider a bit of a custom request? I may know someone who'd be interested in a santa.
