She encouraged me! She tempted me! She did the nyah nyah! thing!!!
In other news, we have this. Seriously. The weekend of the fourth started on the first, for us. That was the first night of the local carnival, and of course Monstrous Bebe had to go. So we three went and she rode rides. Bumper Cars, the Round-up, the Tilt-A-Whirl. All things spinny and sick-making. Lucky for me her dad was there to do it with her. I just held the tickets and stood to one side, averting my eyes.
I also looked at the bois. And there were bois! Pretty, pretty ones! There were standard farmer-type bois, with jeans and boots and plain white t's with dark tans and short, short hair. There were the college-student bois from the Middle East and Asia and such, in nervous groups. There were Latino...Mexican...Hispanic? Which word! bois, talking in excited voices and making me smile 'cause i love to hear the cadence and shape of another language. And there were these quasi-goth bois. Sorta...skater-punk-goth. Big baggy skater pants. Skater sneaks. Tight Goth shirts with this generations equivilent of 'Rush' or 'Van Halen' on the front. Short hair, natch, but with streaks of purple or red or white or green. And even a touch of eyeliner here and there! Oh, the pretty bois!
And tons and tons and tons of girls in low-rise jeans and belly shirts. TONS. It was slightly scary.
Friday, there was the housecleaning from Hell and Monstrous Bebe went off to the carnival AGAIN, only with the next-door neighbor and her daughter. Saturday, i was knackered but company came! Good friend Kro, the computer GOD, who took time off on his birthday weekend to fix my adware/spyware compromised 'puter. Yay, Kro! You are my hero.
Then, Sunday, impromptu BBQ at my house. Me and Kro went food-shopping, Uncle went firework shopping. We grilled, i made a birthday/independence day cake, we ate, we hung out until all hours. We did the carnival again. There were...seven of us. Bebe had MORE people to ride rides with, and she was in heaven. Plus, we won cool drinking glasses at the dime-toss, and Cat won a cute little stuffed gorilla at another 'feat of skill'. Heh.
Monday, more of the same only BBQ at Uncle's house (my brother-in-law, and the Bebe's Uncle, not mine) plus fireworks. Then more friends! Our musician friends from Texas arrived. Drama ensued, as they'd left all their money in a bank bag in a bathroom stall in a truck stop three hours away. The internet was perused, phone calls were made. The money was okay! A band-memeber went to get it - drove all night! What a doll. The rest of the band were estactic, as you might imagine, and we sat around the fire and celebrated very, very late.
Tuesday, huge, slow breakfast at Denny's and one more guest and then everyone slowly, finally, went home. Yay! I love them, but i was exhausted. Plus, we are now broke for the rest of the week.
Ah well.
It was fun.
And here's what happened the year i was born. Lots of cool things!

You know, it's difficult to type when your cat is hanging off the edge of your desk is some sort of deathless swoon, with his paws dangling on your keyboard.
Silly Chango.

I think 1967 was a cool year to be born. Lots of neat stuff happened.
Re: 1967
Hee.
I looked at a few others and they were all LONG, so...
That's what came to mind.
:)
I'm happy to be a '67 baby. It was a good year.
