And it's glorious!!
Sebastian Stan, our very own BUCKY, thinks fanfiction is a good way to work out your feelings and emotions - specifically over the ending of Infinity Wars. Whooo! :D

This is a Facebook link to an interview. If you can't or won't go to FB, here's the essence of it in print.

I luff this guy.
TO BE CLEAR: He is not asking for you to send him your Steve/Bucky D/s A/B/O mpreg masterpiece. Let's all have a little dignity, m'kay?

*waves*

Hullo, flist! Yes, I'm still here, still writing (holy fuck), still reading, just not talking a lot. Stupid brain.

Plus - dreadfully hot summer which makes me all...lazy. Plus, just...i dunno. Weird over-fifty brain. WHO KNOWS.

I'm going to be in Maryland, specifically Emmitsburg, in September, at the National Fire Academy. Doing a class in Community Risk Reduction. Fun times, eh? Anybody here live near there? What's it like in Maryland in September? Should I pack sweaters?

Ah, fuckit, I'm gonna pack sweaters no matter what, every building ever is so damn air conditioned, they're like meat lockers.

Love ya, flist! Hope to hear from you!

Okay, here we go! Last post for tonight, not *quite* the last of the story. I say 'one more' but who the fuck knows, once i get typing.

Thank you, everybody, who is still reading. I deeply, deeply appreciate it. And thank you, my dearest Snow, for your unflagging encouragement. :)

At AO3.

Yup, still working on. Nope, still not done. I know! Two chapters tonight, my lovelies. :)
And of course, my eternal thanks to the ever-patient and lovely [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for her beta-ing and help and general awesomeness.

So, you all may have noticed that last week, I posted a bunch of drabbles to AO3 (my Obsession 'verse RPF ones). That's because [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou made a 'collections' page over there for any and all drabbles that have been posted at the slashthedrabble Livejournal (owned, as we all know, but [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens, currently maintained by Snow).

It's right here: Slash_The_Drabble. If you've posted at the LJ, you can post on AO3 and add it to the collection Slash_The_Drabble. To be notified of postings there, I think you have to have Snow make you a member, but of course - that woudln't be a big deal. :)

I love that things are being archived at AO3 - while I love LJ and DW, I sometimes have a lot of trouble reading on various pages there, especially if people have chosen dark color backgrounds or small or pale text. AO3 is just easier on my aging eyes.

Now - this is post one. In about an hour? I'm going to post two new chapters of my Space AU, Yesternight. I SWEAR - i am not doing this on purpose. Every time i start writing, *more* story happens than I thought would happen, and it just gets *longer*. I am trying so hard to finish this story, you guys. Swear to gods.

We have entered the roller coaster phase of winter here, with temps in the high fifties, then below zero with snow, then fifties again with rain and wind like crazy. So of course - i have the sniffles!!

Anyway - post away, if you drabble, or read away - both are good. :) And stay tuned!

I'm currently working for the Rural fire department, doing admin-type stuff, and will also be organizing and basically coming up with their new fire safety and prevention/awareness program for the elementary schools.

I will *most likely* be doing that via Americorp/VISTA, but as the Admin Assistant left and starts *her* new job next week, her spot is open. I'm filling in right now, but i'm *fingers crossed* that I can interview and maybe do that job, instead. HEALTH BENEFITS. Plus better pay. Either way, I'm there for at least a year, if not more. It's terrifying and exciting. :)

Anyway - I *thought* there was only one more chapter of 'Yesternight', but HA. I was wrong. As always, Darkhavens is the most awesome person ever, and I'd never get anything posted if it was for her awesome skills and encouragement.

Also at AO3.

Hullo! So much stuff going on, homg.

Two chapters of 'Yesternight' for you, that went up at AO3 yesterday. It was too late to post here, i had to go on to bed so i could be at my work on time. A little more news in the next post!

So - here we go!

Also at AO3.

THIS IS IT. The penultimate chapter of this story that has taken so *very* long. My gods.

Anyway - i'm going to post a 'me and things' post tomorrow, but for now - here we go. One chapter to go, holy fuck! I hope...anyone...is still reading.

:)

At AO3.

Hallooooo, flisties!
It's been a wee while, hasn't it? Sheesh. I'm falling down in my duties. :)
Here in the lovely state of Misery, we are oscillating wildly between 'balmy near-eighties' and 'below freezing' temperatures. Yesterday we had *two* hail storms, making my yard white, totally clogging my gutters so there were fountains of water pouring over the edge, and making the roads an ice-and-water safety hazard. There was also thunder, rain, lightning, wind, and tornado warnings, all in the last five days. I would say March has come in like a lion!

Day Eight & Nine )

And for fic, we have 'Test Kitchen'. Here and at AO3 With [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens as beta, of coz.

Bucky gets sick, Steve tries for familiar comforts. Things...go a wee bit pear-shaped. Sam, of course, to the rescue. With bendy-straws. )

Hallo! I'm kinda behind, huh? Ah, well. Still plugging away.

It keeps going warmish and sunny here, then frigid as fuck. Monstrous Bebe has a yucky cold, and I'm tired to death of running the furnace (the dry air is killing me). But! It's February, and perhaps soon I'll get my tax return and some new glasses, yay!

I also posted an old Spander fic over at my scarecrow_horses AO3 - Letters. I thought that was on my LJ, too, but it's not! So weird. I need to pick up the pace on posting all those old fics.

And now - challenge seven! It is: In your own space, create a fanwork. Make a drabble, a ficlet, a podfic, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list.... Create something.

(It was a very long challenge, I snipped it.)

So, I've been kicking this idea around, about Bucky. What if he was kept in cryo not because he was too violent/to hide him/they forgot about him/etc., but because his imperfect, Zola-made serum didn't work quite right? It makes him fast and strong, sure, but his immune system sucks, and the mask he wore was for filtration, to keep him from breathing in tainted air, and the outfit and gloves and such were to keep him from touching tainted surfaces..... Basically, Bucky gets sick.

All the damn time.

Sick Day )

Now, *finally*, on AO3!

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for the quick beta and fix. :)

Hallo!

I posted this on my FB, so i thought I'd post it here, too, to all my dear flist.

Imbolc blessings )

And now the snowflake challenge. In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts.

HRMMM. Well, what can I say. I love fanart! I wish I had more. I'd love to see a fanvid that sort of tells the story (or evokes) one of my stories. I'd love an illustration or drawing or what have you of a scene or characters from a story. I don't listen to them, but i love having podfics, because so many *other* people listen.

I will never, ever forget the awesome and amazing series of images that [livejournal.com profile] katekat1010 made for [livejournal.com profile] reremouse and I for 'No More Snakes and Ladders'. I mean...WOW. Even now, it just bowls me over.

Same for *all* the art, or podfic, or even 'inspired by' fic that anyone has gifted me with. It's always just amazing when what I've written inspires someone else enough that they are moved to *create*.

So there we have it. :)

Ha ha! Two in one. I need to catch up, for sure. Or hell, maybe it's already over if you started on the 1st, I dunno. We got *so* lucky yesterday - nearly seventy and sunny. Today was all forties and rain, rain, rain. My yard is a sponge with grass on.

So! I'm skipping day four, because it says: "Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them.

I comment on new people's posts all the time, really, and that's never been an issue with me, so I'm fine missing that one. Five says: "In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create."

Which is always a good thing, because there's nothing I like more than recs from a source I trust. (I hope I'm that to some of you.)

So here we go.... )

There you have it! Three plus a bonus, some excellent fic (I think). Hope someone out there finds something to their liking. And feel free to explore my AO3 bookmarks (there aren't a ton), for other Marvel and Supernatural recs, as well as a dash of Losers, Stranger Things, Buffy, and even an excellent M*A*S*H fic. :)

I'm back! Heh.

We had an ice storm, starting Thursday night. Fortunately, not a killer storm like we had way back in 2007, which destroyed trees and took the power down for almost a week. We just got a sort of glazing, this time around, and the streets are basically clear, and the power only went out a couple times, briefly, over night.

No damage this year, so glad! )

Now on to the challenge! Not as interesting a one, to me, as the others, but....

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.

I am definitely setting the goal of *finishing* my space AU, Yesternight. My gods, I can't believe how long I've been writing it. I'm *so close*, but as usual, lately, I seem to seize up at the penultimate moment. So frustrating! I hope to finish it before my birthday, in April - long before! And I really, really want to write more in general this year.

Personally - I need to get up and move. I am getting older, and exercise needs to be a regular thing for me. It's just very hard to motivate myself when it's just *me*. I can't afford a gym membership (though I'm looking into it), and I know if i were paying for that sort of thing, I'd use it, because - paying! So we shall see. But i really want that to be my personal 'thing' this year.

And there we go. Stay warm out there, folks - especially my Canadian flisties - seems like you guys are getting deep-frozen!

So, this challenge is:In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul.

My goodness, that sounds...dire. Heh. A mark on my sooooooul. (Yes, it just sounds a little pretentious. But in thinking it over...there is a mark, and I know what made it.)

Brace yourself!

Who knows? :)
I've been lurking around in fandom and on LJ for a while now, not participating as much as I used to, just not quite feeling *up* to it, for some reason. I want to change that, though. So I'm going to be on here more, if I can, responding and talking more (fingers crossed), and also writing more, I hope hope hope.

I thought I'd start with the Snowflake Challenge, even though I'm several days behind. Some of that was sheer not-organized-ness, and some of that was the *incredibly* windy days we've been having taking out the interwebz for half my town. So my connection has been spotty.

I was also made aware that, for some weird reason, my sticky 'master fic post' was suddenly thrust into prominence as a 'new' post, who knows why. LJ sure seems to be getting unstable. I was puzzled but pleased by the comments, and it did prompt me to update my 'Marvel 'verse' entries, so yay!

Now - here we go with the first of the Snowflake Challenge...challenges. *snerk*

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

Okie-dokie.... )

So, there we go! I'm going to be doing them as quickly as possible to catch up, so expect several this Thursday-Sunday. I hope i'll be seeing and hearing and talking to more of my lovely flist this year; hope this helps me get that off to a good start. :)

ETA: I just realized that LJ spontaneously reposted my Master post. WTH. So i'm going to lock that one and make it private so nobody by me sees two. If I delete it, I'll lose the comments there, which I don't want to do. LJ! Stop being weird!!

First snow of the new year. Only a couple inches, but it's cold as all hell out there - single digits! The gog loves it, though; she runs around in the yard, doing bronco bucks and generally just acting like a goof. We take out the squeaky snake and have a romp!

So last August, I posted Who With Ill Stars are Curst, kind of my 'answer' to the notion in CA:CW that Steve (and Sam) had been searching for Bucky for *two years*, and never seen him in all that time.

A few days ago, I posted the Bucky POV to that story (now a 'verse!), and didn't post anything here, as I was tired and kinda meh. But I thought I should do that. :)

That Heart, Which Others Bleed For, Bleed For Me. I was very pleased to have littlesolnyshka from Tumblr give me a little help with the Romanian/Bucharest bits.

And of course, [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for my beta, as always.

I'm going to be doing the Snowflake challenge, as well, because I really want to be *present* in fandom, more than i have been in the last couple years. Starting (late!) this weekend.

*smooches you all*

Hullo!

Well, it's finally autumn-like out here. Trees mostly bare, windy, some rain and *cold*. Cold enough to make sweaters and gloves feel good, to make me turn up the electric blanket and to put woodsmoke in the air. Lovely!

And I've just posted the second, Bucky POV to 'Trap-Neuter-Release'. More cats and more flirting! AO3 only, since the other part is over there only, as well.

As always - thank you, dear [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for all your beta help and general cheerleading. :)

Expect to be Scratched.

Where I work, 'farm jobs' are constant and ongoing. I talk to a lot of farmers, among other people. So this seemed kinda....inevitable. Hehe.

Steve is a North Dakota wheat farmer. Bucky is just wanting to feel like he's come home from the war. What else, but hitch-hike out to Steve's family farm and...hope for the best? :)

Beta'd by the amazing [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens, as always.

Okay, so - drabble last, good cause first. Ian is a ftm trans kid (well, 19), and one of the Monstrous Bebe's oldest friends. She met him in...seventh grade? I think? I dunno. Anyway - Ian's been taking T for about six months, and is trying to get a top (mastectomy) surgery. And so has a go-fund-me page set up.

If you can please donate, or please signal-boost...that would be awesome. Ian's a great kid, dealing with a lot of crap (some family stuff, some depression/anxiety), and this would be a big step up in helping with his self-esteem issues as well as just...living a better life.

Ian's Top Surgery.
Thank you, my dear flist, for any help you can give.

The drabble is for [livejournal.com profile] slashthedrabble's prompt 'Leather'. And I went old school - Spike/Xander. :) [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens did the beta *of course*. (And [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou did one, too - old-school David/Christian! Leather.)

This is the 600 word edition i wrote (and DH beta'd), but it's not at the comm because the limit there is 500 words. (And i worked 'til 11, it's past 2 a.m., and my brain is toast, so i could *not* cut it to 500. So DH did. SHE IS AWESOME. Read her edited version at the comm
