The easy teasing between Sam and Dean was nicely juxtaposed by Dean and Lisa's prickly greeting. She comes off as cold, but her warm reaction to Bobby keeps me from completely dismissing her. This was a haunting image: "An olive drab Army duffel rolled forward onto the gate, squirming. " It's no wonder Sam is disturbed by their reaction to this anonymous, squirming mass. There's a possessed human being in that duffel. Sam's retreat was vivid and emotional: "She pushed once with her toe, expressionless, and Sam turned away. Walked away fast, heading for the barn – the wall – somewhere. Anywhere but near that squirming, silent, blood-stained bundle." I could feel the distress.

This, too, was a vivid description: "The lantern Sam held made the shadows twist up the walls; tide of darkness that ebbed flowed with the pound of his heart." I especially like the rhythm of ebbed flowed. The entire scene was also disturbing. The human being may be well and truly dead, but transporting that broken carcass to a roach hotel is not going to be fun.
