Hallo!
Yes, as of midnight tonight, I will officially be doing NaNo! Wheee! We'll see how that goes. I can be terribly lazy with my writing, so maybe this will be really cool. Hard to say! But i'm gonna give it a go.

I'm 'cheating' a bit, i guess, in that i've already started the 'novel'. I finally got the plot and remembered NaNo existed at about the same time, and i'm excited about this fic - OC, just so you know - and i'm not going to abandon it or throw away what i've got so far. I wanna *finish* this. But i'm still starting at word-count zero. What i've already got will *not* count toward the 50,000 words.

If anyone is interested, what's already done is here. Have at it - concrit away! My sister read it and said it was 'draggy - too much internal thoughts' - so, is it? You tell me!

As i type, Monstrous Bebe is out trick-or-treating in the rain with her uncle, cousin, and uncle's gf. I hope she has a good time! We will get no knocks on our door, i'm sure. I hope to have pictures up soon! She looks so cute in her 'Gothic Bride' costume.

Wow, a little over five hours until the NaNo thing starts - wheeeeee! Wish me luck!

ETA: A new Spander thing to be posting soon, and a Sooper Sekrit project in the works for...later. :)

ETA2: Sheesh! Totally forgot - my Nano profile!

ETA3: First day count! I'm going to do this every seven days.

Whee! *cheers you on* Nano is a good thing. Luck! :)

And wishing the bebe the best haul ever! I do love this holiday. Candy and Samhain. All good, an odd bit of dissonance, but still good!

Woohoo! It's great to see you tackle original fic - good luck on this project! Thanks for sharing it with us. It's an intriguing beginning, and I'm definitely interested in reading more! It could stand to be trimmed a bit here and there, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it "draggy."

Happy Halloween to you and yours!

Good Luck!! I will be sure to check it out . . . I'm sure I will enjoy it. :)

I love the beginning and I want more! (I enjoy your characters' internal thoughts in whatever you write, so perhaps I'm not the best critic.)

Mmmmmmmwhah! The story starts off like a house on fire! YaY! I'm so thrilled for you! *dances all around you, sprinkling good luck wishes* you can do it--and if you need pep talks, I'm your woman! *grin*

love you!

Best of luck with NaNo! You must be very brave. Last year some of my friends proposed ProNoWriMo, for those too prolific, procrastinatory, or pr0nographic to manage NaNo :)

Okay - trimmed how?

I should have known you'd ask me that :)! I meant my comment in a general sense; in this case, I meant a word or phrase could be deleted, not entire sentences or paragraphs (but then, I think that's true of almost everything I read!), but I also think it'd be OK if you didn't trim it.

Since I have no idea of what you have planned, you're a better judge of what's essential than I am (you know me; I'm a spelling-and-grammar beta, not a story editor). I assure you that it did NOT feel "draggy" to me and that the rhythm of the language conveyed Tod's physical and emotional state effectively.

I thought this started off really well; I love that you're writing some original fic! There was an article about NaNo in the Boston Globe this morning and I told Ron that some of my flist was doing it. I really should just buy you a subscription to the Globe, there are so many articles in it that make me think of you. Did you see this essay that I excerpted in my journal?

Best of luck!
Your picture is gorgeous!

Yep, I could read the Globe online, but I don't have the time -- I read the morning paper while eating breakfast, so that way I can multitask. If I tried to read it on the computer I couldn't do that. I spend far too much time on the computer as it is!

Wow, I would never have thought that. You always seem to have something brewing and they're usually updated pretty steadily, too.

Good luck!

i'm diggin' the fic. the internal dialogue has an outward projection, so i don't think it drags. the reader can feel Tod's attempts to keep moving forward. love your writing, always. keep up the good work.

LUCK!

Your profile kicks ass. And might I add--hubba-hubba *leers*

New Spander, you say?
*bounces into the stratosphere*

And what's all this sooper sekrit bugaboo, missy? Spill!

Dude--guh!

When it comes to you, I really can't critique your writing 'cause you're like--80 billion light years beyond me. It'd be like me trying to crit Hemingway, or something. If you make mistakes, I'm not good enough to even see them, yet.

That said--DUDE! GUH!

The tone, pace, execution, characterization--everything is just as it should be. Your sister is a crazy person, and should be ignored.

You have to make more now, like--NOW, or else I'll die. Literally die, and it'll be all your fault.

This is really, really good. I'd pay cash money for it, if it was in print. (OR at least stand in B&N for a few hours every week till I'd read the whole book =)

Wow, really intrigued with the beginning. Can't wait to read more.

Good luck to you!

Things are good, for the most part. I'm just dealing with two children who have each decided that now is the time to have trouble in school. They keep me busy!
