Just got back from a visit to the folks. *yawn* Driving makes me tired! So before the day's over, i must post this...
This picture here, this is my father. I love this picture - he looks very handsome and just...very *happy*. Which he pretty much is just about all of the time.
What can i say about my dad... He's always inspired me. He finished high school...but only after serving as a Navy medic. He saw D-Day from the beaches they took posession of, and he saw Korea through the lens of war, as well. He put himself through college - he learned how to fix things and make things and he was always curious. Anywhere, anytime, we would see a new or interesting thing and my dad? He would *ask*. He always wanted to know, and he'd ask, or study, or just *poke* - until he'd figured it out.
All my life, i've measured my 'hardships' by what my dad has had to go through - measured my own achievments by what he accomplished and what he did. All my life, i've realized i am so very lucky, and all my life i've asked, questioned - tried to learn, because of him.
He's my Dear Old Dad*, and I love him so very much.
