Oh, man. YAY. Thank you thank you thank you. I was so worried that this was going to just...fall flat, and that after so long you just wouldn't even care anymore.
I'm so sorry i took so long! But yay, you liked it! I don't know why *this* particular story struck me, but it was one of them that i hadn't ever written before, Xander in the Army.... It seemed like a good way to detach him from everything and everyone to the point where Spike is an acceptable companion.
And then to overload him with the stresses and traumas of being in a combat zone, and suddenly - a familiar face, a familiar danger, something that makes *sense*....
Oooh, i'm so pleased you enjoyed it. And, you know, never say never. I don't *feel* like i have another Spander story in me, but life is surprising.
And no worries about the stress - i just was so mad for letting you down and making your charity donation seem less, somehow, since you weren't getting the bonus kick of something you really *wanted*....
Getting this written has, i think, pushed me back over into writing land (fingers crossed) so...it's all good! :)
