Today is my eighth year LJ-versary! Wheeee! :)

That up there is one of my oldest icons, made for me by fanbot.

Oh, the heady days of fandom newbie-dom! I stumbled into fandom via Harry Potter, and even wrote some Harry/Snape. Was happily posting at Lazuli.Kat's mailing list and...got sucked in.

Changes, Heroes, Credence! Aahhh, those were the days. Everything was fresh and new and the friends came thick and fast! I've got my 'constant commentors': darkhavens, amejisuto, roxymissrose, I'm looking at you! And then the people who have been friends forever but are happier to lurk and only pop out every now and again - you know who you are. :) Just knowing you're out there makes me warm and fuzzy.

I found my best bff in the world, sweptawaybayou, and talking to her every day always brings a smile.

I've written epic fic with reremouse and been in a few kerfuffles and wanks,and it has been. Marvelous! I've gone from a strictly Buffy/Angel fan to my new OTP, Supernatural, and picked up Inception, Avengers, Sherlock, Stargate: Atlantis and a few others along the way.

I've made more friends, had more fun, read more amazing stories then i ever imagined i'd do, and the community of lj has always made me feel like someone, somewhere out there felt just like i did.

I've laughed, cried, and celebrated, and i'm ready for more. Love you all - thanks for being here and taking this long, strange trip with me. :)

I can't believe it's been almost eight years since I first met you and started reading your fic. But it's been eight years in which my writing has improved leaps and bounds just by reading yours and steal--er, emulating it. Until I had my own style, I mostly copied yours, lol. You've been an inspiration and an unwitting mentor for me.

And your writing? If it's possible for perfection to get better, then yours certainly has over the years. Whenever I read your fic, I'm still jealous that I didn't write it, myself.

You're a class act all the way, and here's to a million more years on LJ for you.

Aww, you're so wonderful!! I'm glad i inspired you in your writing, bb - you have a wonderful authorial voice, so pleased to have had a teeny, tiny part in you sharing it with a broader audience!
