She hasn't been able to visit for just *ages* and we're going to sit around and watch stuff and talk about fandom and boys and *stuff* and basically just have a damn fine time.

I wish all my lj friends could come for a visit.

Went to see Elf at a Color Guard competition a couple of weeks ago and it was *really* fun. My mom, little brother, and his family were there and we had a great time. Saw an incredibly...tacky routine done for 'breast cancer' in which some of the team acted out being told they had breast cancer by others acting as doctors and it was just...not good.

But then saw an awesome routine with the whole team in crazy Goth-esque gear and makeup, done to some hard-core music. I think the thing I like best about Guard is that not only are the girls *and* boys on the teams, but the girls are all sizes and shapes, and all ethnicities. It was really just very cool.

Stayed over at my moms and hung out, talked, laughed, had a pancake breakfast and just enjoyed ourselves a lot.
