Hallo! I am sitting here, windows open, ac *off*, enjoying the hell out of our suddenly mild and lovely temperatures. Forties at night!! Seventies in the day!! So very wonderful. Cannot *wait* for true autumn to arrive.
I have been poking around at fic but not really *writing*, which is annoying, so i signed up for a couple things. Firstly, the![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
spn_reversebang. It's a challenge where artists provide art, and writers pick the art that inspires them and write a story around it. I got a neat prompt last year that resulted in a Missouri Mosely-centric fic that i really enjoyed writing, so i'm looking forward to it this year!
Secondly, and totally on a whim, I joined the50states_spn challenge. I got Missouri, so i'll be writing something showcasing some Missouri 'stuff' - food, places, ghosties, ghoulies.... Should be a blast! Go check it out - you might be inspired! Minimum word count is only 1k, and stories aren't due until December.
Let's see...what else? Oh! I've been reading and following an online comic - it's *very* adult, very slashy, and the artist is awesome. Check it out here: Starfighter. Sex and intrigue in spaaaaace! What could be better?
I recently watched the last season of Ugly Betty - really enjoyed it! But, i'm confused. Spoilers ahead! Before i sat and just watched all the eps, i was seeing random episodes on tv during the day. And in one episode Justin was doing 'West Side Story' and Hildy was there, and it shows Bobby walking into a convenience store somewhere and getting *shot* and killed. And then - we see Hildy sort of imagining him alive, talking to him about wedding plans and stuff and at the end, she's in her room alone and Betty comes in and Hildy cries and admits he's dead. So, um......wtf? Season four - spoilers again!! - ended with them married, Betty off in London, and them moving to a new house. So - please - if you ever watched it? Halp!!
Lastly - did anyone watch 'Falling Skies'? I freakin' *loved it*. Aliens, apocalypse - could a couple of my buttons be pushed any harder? BUT!
WHERE ARE THE SHOW/FS XOVERS!! I mean - come *on*! Have to be *some* out there! *huge, hopeful eyes*
So, there. Random post is random, and i just wanted to say 'hi' and that i'm doing pretty good, post-surgery. Nice to feel human, to shower whenever i want, to *bend down* when i want without pain or 'incident'. Wheeee!
Hope none of my Texas peeps are in the paths of the fires - please, be safe! Hopefully with autumn on the way, you'll get some damn rain!
Oh, and! Bebe did her first color guard performance at the first home game the second of September - wheeee! They did great, looked great, and she said she wasn't nervous at all. Yay! So glad the field is right across the street. :)
