And it's funny, because just a few days ago, darkhavens and i were talking about Star Trek and the fanfiction book that was published and the story 'Visit to a Weird Planet, Revisited' and the story that spawned that, 'Visit to a Weird Planet', which neither of us had read. And which i *found* later that same evening. So i'm hoping for fic of all kinds. :)

this ep was so much fun. my offspring and I were laughing so hard at one point... though it had its poignant aspect too...

the best part was Kripke's Desperado style death. AWESOME.

They pretty much said that it was all worth it - hell, the apocalypse - as long as they got to be brothers. I thought it was brilliant, but more than that, I'm so happy to have them back together... makes me smile and smile.

Apparently they made a Kon-El somewhere along the line--half Lex's DNA, half Clark's but the kid's a clone and according to the storyline, a rapidly devolving clone. *shrugs* I just watch it for the pretty anymore. :)

But if the storyline holds--whoa, great fic idea....

Kon-El is comic book canon. He really is the genetically engineered offspring of Lex and Clark. There is definitely fic. :D

Hfta say the last 10 mins I found quite cringe-inducingly bad.

But the other 30 were comedy gold. I laughed til I cried and then had to stop it to catch my breath. The physical comedy was awesome, a lot of the lines were inspired and the "crew" (how many of them were the real crew) were fab in the cameo roles.

On balance definitely a WIN!

Agh it really dates me but I remember reading both stories in fanzines way back when. Jean Lorrah (VtaWPR) was one of my favorite fanfic writers back in the day.

Great ep. I'm just a casual viewer and I sat there trying to figure out what was RL (Jared married to "Ruby", Genevieve Cortese) and made-up (all the references to Jared and Jensen actually talking to each other)

I had read the 'Revisited' one in the book when it originally came out, and the notes said there was the 'original' and i wanted to read it *so bad* but never could find it. I didn't even know about fanzines then! Heh. I was like....12 or something.

The guy who put it online typed it up from a fanzine he had, and i was just so damn excited to find it. I *bounced* all over Darkhavens. After all these years! Heh.

I loved this ep so much - just so freaking *fun*. :)
