I tried to do that, recently, with a "Due South" fic. It was Fraser/Ray Vecchio, not Fraser/Ray Kowalski. I just--couldn't get into it. It was well-written, but. . . . rubbed me wrong. And I like Vecchio, just not with Frase. So I can't imagine how it'd be to see Frase with someone I hate.
