I know it's not practical to show the long term effects of an injury, but I LOVE that Sam wore a cast for half a season. (Yes I know it's because JARED broke his wrist. But it was wonderful to see actual physical concequences.) I also adore shows like Battlestar Galactica for treating wounds like wounds. They allowed one of their characters to hurt her knee, and then need crutches for half a season. I think that may be the first time I've seen a show allow a character to heal like a human would heal.

I have a weakness for Dean's silence too. Every once in awhile I'll stumble on an AU where things became more traumatic for the boys (usually John disappears and they end up seperated in foster care) and Dean doesn't talk. I'm not sure what it is about it, but I'm facinated with Dean's silence.

I'd definitely read your fic about Dean never talking again, even if you didn't have plot. *g* Maybe you could do a "Dean through the years" sort of story. John watching his son go through milestones, but quiet the whole time.

Oh and I've just started reading your "Sam gets thrown into a different timeline" series! It's wonderful! If I didn't have to be up at 8am tomorrow I'd probably stay up and read the whole thing. As it is, I had to tear myself away because I kept clicking for more chapters long after I promised myself I'd go to bed.
