This is a fantastic rendering of Dean's post traumatic stress, particularly in the use of details, the way you build the tension in the diner, for instance, and the way that you foreshadow that with the men in front of the hardware store, the way you suggest Dean's nervousness and then make the flawless transition into his disconnection with the world around him. Sam's reaction, his pain at having to lie to the cop, is a beautiful counterpoint to Dean's flashback, which is worse than what a soldier experiences but still NOT a soldier's experience. It's all really beautifully done and comes together so nicely. Great job!
