Ah, very cool. I have loved TJB since childhood, as well - read them over and over again. I loved that Mowgli could *talk* to all the animals and wished i could do that myself and, of course, memorized the 'hunting calls' so i could tell any animals out in the woods that i was a friend...

I find the original story behind most fairy tales to be exceedingly grim and unpleasant. TJB not so much, but it doesn't take much effort for the 'real' story to bleed through.

I'm so pleased that that aspect, in particular, intrigued you, because i love finding the hidden darkness in things.

In fact, i'll go so far as to self-pimp a story of mine i think you'll like. It's a Spike/Xander story - the Buffy universe - and it's set in Neverland. Yes. With Peter Pan and Hook... Talk about a look through a glass darkly...heh. Although, if you've read Peter Pan, you know that the darkness in that story is pretty thinly veiled.

So, take a look, see what you think. :)

And thank you again! I'm pleased to gain a new reader!
