Greetings. I just clicked through the link for Letters via the cover art, and 'twas a lovely morning read. Also, I appreciated the verisimilitude of the piercings -- you actually mentioned anatomical limitations and the lower gauges being good for nipple piercings and autoclaves and copying driver's licenses and Spike took his septum out because it was bothering him! Perhaps it's a relatively minor point in a story about grounding one's self and searching, but the world-building details rang true and added to my enjoyment and belief in the story. There's also something I find fascinating with Spike, his need to relate to and inhabit his physical body and attend to its needs (in a way he didn't do a particularly good job of in my memories of S7 Buffy), and the connections between his authority over his body and ability to modify it as seen by his myriad of piercings, the new tattoos, and his new-found ability to straddle the line between needing blood to survive, being a demon, and having a soul.

(Or, as my stream-of-conscious reactions went: yay they get out of bad situations and away from cranky people, and there's Ishmael!; PIERCINGS! PIERCING ACTIONS I RECOGNIZE! THANK YOU!; awww, Spike riding the line; the strange intimacy of letters, awesomecakes; love the use of the camera to show Spike his new tattoo; *laughs* Xander switched nicknames for his new self; aww, they're just a touch awkward, straddling the line between the intimacy and knowledge of the letters and the new face to face contact; fight scene with bonus hotness!; awww, they ride into the sunset with a new beginning.)
