New chapter up at [livejournal.com profile] douse_house! All the warnings still apply... Enjoy! If you can.
*evol cackle*

Really not funny anymore.

Watched an original Star Trek episode this afternoon - 'Shore Leave'. They go to an 'uninhabited' planet and suddenly crazy things start to happen! The White Rabbit and Alice appear! Sulu finds an antique gun! Kirk runs, McCoy flirts, female crew members scream and cling!

And the yomen - her tunic is torn! On the right! No, on the left! No, just the collar! Somehow, the act of flipping Captain Kirk over the bad guy's shoulders makes *his* shirt rend itself! Manly nipple of James Tiberius!

The continuity sucked, there was too much eyeshadow on the guys - and not in the good way - and the women were all just...losers. But omfg. I still loved it.
Also? Slashy. Wheeeee! 'Trouble With Tribbles' soon.

*I adored 'shore leave' as a kid 'cause - omg, you could imagine *horses*!! You could imagine an awesome horse and it would trot up to you and you could ride it!! The perfect world!!*

Gotta love ST:TOS.
Kirk's shirts must be made of paper, they tear so often!

To this day I can't watch Trouble With Tribbles without smiling like a loon.

I believe that "Shore Leave" is the episode where Sulu fires a gun like thirty-six times without reloading. Good times.

For all the cheesiness, there's more charm in five minutes of any given ST:TOS episode than in a whole season of Next Generation. IMHO, anyway.

As I recall from my Trekkie days they went out on location and for some reason they found the script wouldn't work. There they were on location with expensive props like the tiger so they improvised a lot and I guess they filmed more than they used, continuity went bye-bye and there wasn't much left of Ted Sturgeon's original script.

Shakatany

PS Currently there's a script out in LA LA land of Kirk's Academy days that ignores much of canon including Finnegan :(

PPS One day I plan to make a double feature of "The Trouble with Tribbles" and DS9's "Trials and Tribble-ations"

I watched an episode of Futurama the other night with the entire TOS cast, pretty much; they were getting ready for a show-down, and before it starts, Kirk reaches up and rips his own shirt. It was wonderful.

Julia, I've seen every Futurama episode but that one, somehow

Ah, Original Trek. There is much to be said for its purity and innocence. The Holy Triumvirate of Kirk-Spock-McCoy is a great and glorious thing.

Have you seen anything with Harry Mudd?
