Hallooooo, flisties!
It's been a wee while, hasn't it? Sheesh. I'm falling down in my duties. :)
Here in the lovely state of Misery, we are oscillating wildly between 'balmy near-eighties' and 'below freezing' temperatures. Yesterday we had *two* hail storms, making my yard white, totally clogging my gutters so there were fountains of water pouring over the edge, and making the roads an ice-and-water safety hazard. There was also thunder, rain, lightning, wind, and tornado warnings, all in the last five days. I would say March has come in like a lion!

Day Eight & Nine )

And for fic, we have 'Test Kitchen'. Here and at AO3 With [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens as beta, of coz.

Bucky gets sick, Steve tries for familiar comforts. Things...go a wee bit pear-shaped. Sam, of course, to the rescue. With bendy-straws. )

Slang from Dirty Thirties.

Hallo! I'm kinda behind, huh? Ah, well. Still plugging away.

It keeps going warmish and sunny here, then frigid as fuck. Monstrous Bebe has a yucky cold, and I'm tired to death of running the furnace (the dry air is killing me). But! It's February, and perhaps soon I'll get my tax return and some new glasses, yay!

I also posted an old Spander fic over at my scarecrow_horses AO3 - Letters. I thought that was on my LJ, too, but it's not! So weird. I need to pick up the pace on posting all those old fics.

And now - challenge seven! It is: In your own space, create a fanwork. Make a drabble, a ficlet, a podfic, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list.... Create something.

(It was a very long challenge, I snipped it.)

So, I've been kicking this idea around, about Bucky. What if he was kept in cryo not because he was too violent/to hide him/they forgot about him/etc., but because his imperfect, Zola-made serum didn't work quite right? It makes him fast and strong, sure, but his immune system sucks, and the mask he wore was for filtration, to keep him from breathing in tainted air, and the outfit and gloves and such were to keep him from touching tainted surfaces..... Basically, Bucky gets sick.

All the damn time.

Sick Day )

Now, *finally*, on AO3!

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for the quick beta and fix. :)

Who knows? :)
I've been lurking around in fandom and on LJ for a while now, not participating as much as I used to, just not quite feeling *up* to it, for some reason. I want to change that, though. So I'm going to be on here more, if I can, responding and talking more (fingers crossed), and also writing more, I hope hope hope.

I thought I'd start with the Snowflake Challenge, even though I'm several days behind. Some of that was sheer not-organized-ness, and some of that was the *incredibly* windy days we've been having taking out the interwebz for half my town. So my connection has been spotty.

I was also made aware that, for some weird reason, my sticky 'master fic post' was suddenly thrust into prominence as a 'new' post, who knows why. LJ sure seems to be getting unstable. I was puzzled but pleased by the comments, and it did prompt me to update my 'Marvel 'verse' entries, so yay!

Now - here we go with the first of the Snowflake Challenge...challenges. *snerk*

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

Okie-dokie.... )

So, there we go! I'm going to be doing them as quickly as possible to catch up, so expect several this Thursday-Sunday. I hope i'll be seeing and hearing and talking to more of my lovely flist this year; hope this helps me get that off to a good start. :)

ETA: I just realized that LJ spontaneously reposted my Master post. WTH. So i'm going to lock that one and make it private so nobody by me sees two. If I delete it, I'll lose the comments there, which I don't want to do. LJ! Stop being weird!!

First snow of the new year. Only a couple inches, but it's cold as all hell out there - single digits! The gog loves it, though; she runs around in the yard, doing bronco bucks and generally just acting like a goof. We take out the squeaky snake and have a romp!

So last August, I posted Who With Ill Stars are Curst, kind of my 'answer' to the notion in CA:CW that Steve (and Sam) had been searching for Bucky for *two years*, and never seen him in all that time.

A few days ago, I posted the Bucky POV to that story (now a 'verse!), and didn't post anything here, as I was tired and kinda meh. But I thought I should do that. :)

That Heart, Which Others Bleed For, Bleed For Me. I was very pleased to have littlesolnyshka from Tumblr give me a little help with the Romanian/Bucharest bits.

And of course, [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for my beta, as always.

I'm going to be doing the Snowflake challenge, as well, because I really want to be *present* in fandom, more than i have been in the last couple years. Starting (late!) this weekend.

*smooches you all*

Well, it's finally autumn-like out here. Trees mostly bare, windy, some rain and *cold*. Cold enough to make sweaters and gloves feel good, to make me turn up the electric blanket and to put woodsmoke in the air. Lovely!

And I've just posted the second, Bucky POV to 'Trap-Neuter-Release'. More cats and more flirting! AO3 only, since the other part is over there only, as well.

As always - thank you, dear [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for all your beta help and general cheerleading. :)

Expect to be Scratched.

For the [livejournal.com profile] slashthedrabble prompt: PTSD

This is an interlude in the 'Solitude' series (at AO3). Post Winter Soldier, pre-slash Steve and Bucky.

Beta'd by [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens. Title and cut quote from Macbeth, Act V, scene III.

At Slash the Drabble. 500 words.

Where I work, 'farm jobs' are constant and ongoing. I talk to a lot of farmers, among other people. So this seemed kinda....inevitable. Hehe.

Steve is a North Dakota wheat farmer. Bucky is just wanting to feel like he's come home from the war. What else, but hitch-hike out to Steve's family farm and...hope for the best? :)

Beta'd by the amazing [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens, as always.

At AO3.

Who can resist Captain America, waving wheat, and apple pie under North Dakota's summer skies? )

Look at that, another post. And I'm...really annoyed! My header image is gone, and I can't seem to get it to show again no matter what I do. I had it uploaded to 'Scrapbook' on LJ, and it's been displaying fine for ages. Suddenly, it vanishes! I re-uploaded, put it up on another site...nothing! ARRGH.

Also, Scarecrow Horses is gone. Not sure what's up with *that*, either - I don't think we forgot to pay, so.... *flails about*

I am so frustrated. Anyway. A month ago, Cat went to New York for a tattoo con, and stayed over a few days to see things like Coney Island, MOMA, etc. He had a grand time, ate some amazing food, and brought back wee gifties. :) Here's one of mine, bought from a street vendor outside MOMA: The Avengers...as cats! )

And on that note - I have a new ficlet to post. I loved Civil War (Avengers movie), but found the timeline hard to swallow. Bucky has been gone for *two years*? Steve (and Sam) haven't seen him in *two years*? That just seemed...wrong. So, i had to fix that. :)

On AO3

It seemed like Steve only caught up with Bucky when Sam wasn't around.... )

Hope to have the website back up in a day or so, if anybody out there can help with the header thing....? *smooches*

Hullo, all.

It's the wettest, rainiest spring *ever*. I love it, but *man*. My basement's never going to dry out. My mint, blackberry canes, and assorted other things are thriving, though.

So, I talked in my last post about my Aunt dying, and about the recordings I had that I was listening to. I made a little mp3 out of one of them. )

Also, I posted an AU Steve/Bucky fic about Steve the cat-rescue/artist and Bucky the vet who loves cats. A pre-relationship kind of thing I intend to expand. It's only at AO3 - i'm being so lazy. Trap-Neuter-Release.

So there we go, that's all i got. :)

Guys, it's a little embarrassing how ga-ga I am for Bucky Barnes. And, to be honest, for Sebastian Stan. The man is fucking adorable. ANYWAY...some of you have probably seen the head-canon he posted about Bucky and his backpack (seen in the Civil War trailer....)

And it got me thinking, and so...to writing. So, here - a little under a thousand words about...all that.

On AO3

So! I wrote a D/s fic for a Steve/Bucky challenge over at AO3, and the fic authors were just revealed! So I wanted to post it. Go read *everything* at the Summer Lovin' Fic Exchange. All the fic are D/s, all are Steve/Bucky.

The fic *for* me is Brooklyn (We Go Hard), by anseladamsfan. A little rough play, a little bondage, a little delight...:)

Myself, I wrote, as per requested, a Medieval AU, with Sergeant Templar Stiofan and Master Fixer Mason Apprentice Jacopo, in 13th century Italy. Some bondage, some spanking, some flogging...perhaps a little blasphemy. :) If you're into that, well - here we go.

Also at AO3.

Beta'd, as always, by the delightful and dedicated [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens. Thank you, bb!

Summary: A Sergeant in the order of the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon (or Templars), Stiofán has travelled from his home in Ireland to Italy, to assist in the raising of a new church and Templar headquarters, under the auspices of brother Knights Templar Bonvicino. Stiofán is steadfast, pious, and dedicated, and his work as architect and artist is invaluable to the endeavor.

Jacopo is an Apprentice to the Master Fixer Mason, cutting stone to fit seamlessly with stone, an exacting and difficult job, and one he does flawlessly.

Both of them discover something in the other that leads to distraction, to temptation...to sin.

See the end for notes, translations and links.

And here we go! A second part (not linear chapters) to my first Marvel/Avengers/Winter Soldier fic, This Solitude Through Which We Go.

It's the little things, really, that seem to cause the biggest problems in Bucky's recovery....
Also at AO3.

Thanks again, [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens for the beta!

Heya. Well, so - it's nearly February, wow! Can't believe it. It's been cold-warm-cold-cold-*cold*holyfuck-warm here, so very weird. Heating bill is way too big, as usual. *sigh*

BUT, all that aside, i bring fic! Avengers fic. I know! Who'da thunk! But i love the movies (all of them except the Hulk ones - Bill Bixby is forever my Bruce Banner), and i've had this idea kicking around for ages, so... Fic. :)

I thought - getting your arm busted up and then amputated, possibly without anesthesia, is pretty fucking traumatizing. And then Evil Nazi Scientists (tm) graft some kind of horrible, metal killing-arm onto you? Without your consent? And torture you?

I can't imagine Bucky *liking* having that arm on him, so...i wrote about it. It's Gen, it's not terribly gory or anything, and I posted it over at AO3, too.

What is this world, O soldiers? )

Also, in case you're wondering - SHOW IS BACK! AND I LUFF!! Oh, my boys. Oh, my *boys*! *smishes them*

Hello, hello.

Just wanted to post a couple of things that made me grin just lately. Firstly, the lovely [livejournal.com profile] cedarcliffe made me the most *awesome* illustration for my 'Song of the Treadmill' fic.

Just - utterly gorgeous. I'll link, because it's big and also because if you like it you should definitely leave a comment.

Dean facing the demon. I am over the moon with this delightful art.

Also, I was struck my sudden inspiration over at [livejournal.com profile] ignipes journal. A picture of an adorable monkey was posted, comments were made about superheroes and...i wrote a comment ficlet.

Which means you should all tell me stories about superheroes who turn into puppies, or other baby animals. Kittens. Clumsy little polar bear cubs. Baby monkeys. Hey, why do animal transformation stories never turn characters into monkeys? )

I'm also linking the actual comment, because we did some speculation on monkey!Tony and post-monkey!Tony and it was *fun* and some of you might enjoy.

Yes, I am waiting with giddy impatience for the 'Avengers' movie to come out. Yes, I am actually buying midnight showing tickets, as everyone in the family is on board with that plan. Eeeeee! Never did a midnight showing before!

And yes, I have a bit of personal pride in the fact that I linked [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens to some Avengers Steve/Tony fic and now she's *hooked*!! Hooked!
*cackles with glee*

Anyway, that's all the news that's fit to print from my corner of the world. Spring was here for about....a week? And now Summer seems to be advancing like a damn tidal wave - supposed to be in the nineties this week! I really cannot stand that. Had to get the *lawn mowed* this week. It's MARCH! Well, it was March. Now it's April. But still.

Speaking of - April 1st - happy birthday to my brother!
