First, the thank you - to every single person who wished me a happy birthday. I was and still am overwhelmed and in awe of the many, many good wishes and hugs and kisses and general lurve that i got yesterday from...all of you.

I had an absolutely wonderful, incredible birthday, and the biggest thank you goes to [livejournal.com profile] pretties_4u and [livejournal.com profile] kyrieane for coming up with the [livejournal.com profile] tab_bday_comm. You guys...are evol! Spreading my birthday all over LJ!

*But secretly? I was and am so pleased and flattered and humbled.*

Thank you, you guys, and everyone else - it was utterly lovely!

And for those who are curious, the birthday haul:

A new copy *better copy!* of Captain's Courageous
The DVD of 'Brideshead Revisited', the mini-series. *Anthony Andrews! Jeremy Irons!*
A hand-made birthday poster from the Monstrous Bebe
Cards from friends and relatives
And fics! And drabbles! All of which i'll be pimping here as soon as i've got them all collated. Heh.

And now - on to the Credence update! Yes, at last. Thank you for being so patient!

I know it's been forever - I really apologize. I've been so damn busy it's scary, and it's all just...crazy stuff!
And writing Snakes and Ladders...and ficathons i should NOT have signed up for...ack!!
Anyway. Here, at last, is the next bit.

Previous chapters are in my memories, or you can read it at Scarecrow Horses.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] reremouse for the look-see and encouragement, and [livejournal.com profile] ladycat777 for some interesting insights.

First, thank you thank you [livejournal.com profile] saifai for fixing my icon so get the 'fade' instead of the fast cut. It's lovely!!

Secongly, [livejournal.com profile] roxymissrose sent Monstrous Bebe and I pressies! Monstrous got a whole bag full of fun Xmas socks. and a 'kicky'! plaid skirt and *i* got 'Bee's Knees' socks and...oooh! Xander fridge magnet! Which is, of course, not on the FRIDGE, so far away in the kitchen. :) She also sent me the original of the pretteh Xander picture she did for me for 'Hero' and some other lovely little trinkets and that really, really made me smile. Loves ya, bay-bee! And guess what - that thing we talked about, with Wade? Read on!!! Wheeee!

I also got an Xmas card in the mail from [livejournal.com profile] ponders_life and it's so pretty! And it made my day!! So cool.

[livejournal.com profile] kyrieane hasn't been around - and i know why... Miss ya, sweetie!

Also - i have absolutely lovely new art on my site for 'Credence' and 'Changes' by Terry, and a must-see pic for 'Little Runaway' by AngstPuppy. Go! Gaze! Tell them you love them!

[livejournal.com profile] reremouse did me a lovely fast beta-and-continuity-and-emote-check on this chapter. *snogs madly*

And now, finally - sheesh - the update! CanNOT believe it's been since November. Wow.
Previous chapters are here.
This is the chapter that prompted me to ask about dyslexia, so for everyone who helped me with that question, Thank You! I really appreciated it, and i hope that what i wrote here isn't a big let-down or a total mess.

On some sort of updating frenzy this week.

So here's the next bit!

The song quoted is by Simon and Garfunkel, 'The Boxer'.

Previous parts are here in my memories
and here at Scarecrow Horses.

Chapter 18 )

I know it's for a different story, but [livejournal.com profile] fanbot made me this spiffy 'Little Runaway' icon!!
I would still luuurve a 'Credence' one...

Okay, ETA on 'Changes' is that it's with my beta, so hopefully i'll get it back tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks for being so patient!

Also, GIP!! See my lovely icon? [livejournal.com profile] fanbot made it for me! I lurve it! *bounce*

And 'Credence'.
The Latin is a prayer, and translates to this: "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace." Taken from here.

The quotation is from Richard Adam's Watership Down.

Previous parts are here.

Thanks, everybody, for your kind encouragement and fb! :)

Here we go, next chapter.
And thank you [livejournal.com profile] kyrieane for the quick and dirty beta.
Any mistakes left in the text are MY fault. :)

Previous parts are here.

The book quoted is As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner

I know it's taken me a while, but finally - some more! Thanks, everyone, for waiting to read it and asking after it. Hopefully the gaps will get smaller!
I'm trying...

Thank you expecially much [livejournal.com profile] kyrieane for the off-the-cuff beta and for the general messaging chatty stuff that - well - made me smile all night long.
*hugs you*

I know i've been getting some questions about this fic - no, i havn't forgotten or abandoned it! Just had, you know...stuff. Happen. And stuff.
Anyway, here's you go, more Demon!Spike, more Hyena!Xander, more Oz! more Angst!, sort of... Just more!

Totally and completely unbeta'd except for the 'guidence' Word can give. And i ask you, in what bizarro alternate dimension is 'that am' EVER correct?? Sheesh.

Previous parts, as always, can be found here.

Credence Chapter 14 )

In other news, i spent some time updating Scarecrow Horses and now I have all my LJ fics posted there, all neatly organised!
LiveJournal on Scarecrow Horses.

And - i told you all that i would post links to anybody's site if they wanted me to. And i will! But now i can't remember who wanted a link, and i've not done it! Grrrrrr.
So please, if you would be so kind - if you would like your website to link from mine, tell me so, and email me a button or a link to where i can get one OR, tell me you have no button and i'll make one. Okay? Okay.
tabaqui: (Default)
Saturday, July 17th, 2004 08:35 pm
Well, here it is, the next chapter!
Remember, completely unbeta'd. Whoo!
Also - i seriously want to know of any glaring errors, weird continuity, or if i've, you know, gone off the deep end. Or am just babbling and not really telling a story anymore.
I'm open to all sorts of comments!!
Previous parts are here.
And, as always, at Scarecrow Horses.

Credence )

A further note: If you have a website or archive and would like to link it through Scarecrow horses? Just ask! I get a lot of hits for a site that has such a low profile - like 2000 or more a month - and i have VERY few links right now.
I can even make you a custom button!

Hullo, flist!
Next chapter. A touch short, but hey....can't all be huge!
Not beta'd, of course.
Previous bits are here and also at Scarecrow Horses.

Thanks, everybody, for following this and for the lovely fb! Really makes the knuckling-down writing part worth it!

Damn. Ever have something just KICK YOUR ASS?
This chapter kicked my ass. I wrote it FOUR times. Deleted every single word FOUR TIMES.
Finally, i realized that i was missing a chapter, and when i figured THAT out, all was good. Heh.
Thank you thank you [livejournal.com profile] roxymissrose for giving this a look-see and shoving it out of the nest.
Still not actually beta'd, though.

Previous bits are here and at Scarecrow Horses.

Well, this just wouldn't let me be 'til i wrote it, so here it is. I promise more of 'Hero' tomorrow.

As always, if anybody has anything to say about this that's a criticism/critique/suggestion/pointing out my atrocious errors of English language usage, feel free! All comments welcome, and picking my work to bits is just dandy! I don't mind! Really!

Thank you thank you [livejournal.com profile] roxymissrose for the super-fast betathing - just what i needed!

Since memories are working so well, all previous parts are here, as well as at my website.

The quotes that appear are from these works/authors, in this order:
Robert Graves - Counting the Beats
Robinson Jeffers - Return
James Baldwin - Giovanni's Room
John Keats - On Receiving a Curious Shell

Credence part 10 )

That delicious Snape icon was made for me by [livejournal.com profile] perfectwhorl. You rock, sweetie!

Well, just had to get this out.
But, let me give you a little warning, eh?
And - as an aside, i really never do the whole 'rating, spoilers, pairing' thing at the beginning of this sort of thing. Do i need to? I never read those... I wonder if that sort of thing is terribly important? Anyway, on to the acutal warning for this chapter.

Chapter Nine Warning )

The memories function seems to be working again, yay! So previous parts of Credence are here.

It's also at being archived at Scarecrow Horses.

Hullo, hullo.
Here we go, then.

I have a ferocious headache, and am going for a lie-down.
A trifle short, maybe, but... Ah well.

Previous parts are here.
My memories page keeps saying there are only seven entries in the 'Credence' slot, so i'm not sure what's going on. If you only find seven, as well, tell me?

Credence: Part eight )

ETA: The poem quoted is 'The Hermit Prays' by Maxine Kumin , from her book 'Up Country'.

Hullo, here we go...
Previous parts here.

The bit of book quoted is, once again, Rudyard Kipling, from 'The Jungle Books', specifically 'Tiger! Tiger!'.
Also, unbeta'd. :)

Here we go then, part six with a lovely 'Rapid Response Unit' beta by PerfectWhorl. Who, let's be fair, was mostly looking to see if this chapter was worth posting, so any errors are still mine.

I didn't do this before, but the quotes in the text are from Rudyard Kipling, specifically his story 'Rikki-tikki-tavi'.

Enjoy, people! :)
And thank you all for the lovely fb and encouragement - it really makes the work of writing and editing and posting (still not totally LJ savvy) worth it.

Angst. Such a good word. Myself, i'm just having a little 'writer angst'. Questioning my abilities, wondering if my...methods? are any good. Mostly wondering if my utter loathing of stories that end on a miserable, or totally fucked up, or completely hopeless note is making me 'fix' things too quickly and easily in my own stuff. If i'm making it 'happy' at the expense of a decent story.
But hey, everyone has doubts. Maybe i wouldn't be dwelling on MINE if i wasn't having a very mild panic about 'Changes'... I just realized how HARD it's going to be to write season six!! Arrrgh!
Anyway, here's part four of Credence. The plot thickens! Or thins, as the case may be. Heh.

Previous parts here.

Ahhh, spring. Ticks, chiggers, ants. Gods how i hate it. I need to live in the Arctic or something.
Anyway - here's part four of this little ficlet, and I thought i'd also add that this is NOT in any way, shape, or form had a 'real' beta. So any mistakes are my own, so sorry.

Also, Chapter 2 of part 2 of 'Changes' is up at my website.

Um - just thought i should say, this has nothing whatsoever to do with CCR. As cool as their music may be. Heh.
It has everthing to do with this:
cre·dence n. Acceptance as true or valid; belief.
