The holiday got me thinking. It's so *loud*. So full of gun-powdery smoke and screaming rockets and people yelling. Chaos, and it cannot be fun for some of the troops that make their home here. That we see every day. So, I wrote this. [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens beta'd, of course.

And it's for [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou, because i owe her about a million fics, but this'll have to do.

ETA: Ever use that LJ Search function? I like to if i'm getting comments on old fics - it usually means someone has rec'd a story of mine, and i like to say 'thank you' if someone has. It's a neat feature, and you learn things! So, on that note...for my dear Anonymous - a new default icon, just for you! :)

Yes, i have succumbed, i am doing the prompts out of order! Because i am lame like that, and weak, and can't resist [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou's internet puppy eyes. :)
ETA: [livejournal.com profile] deirdre_c wanted a China Sea timestamp, too - i'd totally overlooked her!

So - ten years after South China Sea. Bad things are happening in the world, and the boys...cope. With bonus Kane/Boreanaz and a touch of angst at the end, just. For. Snow. :) Enjoy, bay-bee!
[livejournal.com profile] darkhavens did the beta, of course. Thank you, you wonderful person you! :)

Well, not *too* pointless, heh.

This past Monday, my Mom had her left knee replaced. She had the right one done about six years ago, and the last couple years has had a *lot* of pain from her degenerating left knee. So it was about time!

On Friday i went down to where she lives to help her get home and such, but she wasn't feeling well enough to leave the hospital, and ended up not coming home until Saturday. She's doing very well, actually - stiff and sore from lying in bed for so long, and her foot is a bit swollen, but when i left Sunday she was pretty chipper.

Now she just has to endure being 'nursed' by my two brothers. Eeep! Boys are just not very good nurses.

My almost-sis-in-law also graduated from college on Friday, with a degree in Mathmatics - major - and a minor in Art. AND, my nephew graduated from High School, and is going to college in the fall. Yay! Both of them worked hard and graduated with honors, and i'm so proud of them!

Lastly - the delightful and talented [livejournal.com profile] catsbycat made art for me! Two separate gifts of art for my 'South China Sea' Vietnam AU. They're lovely and amazing and i hope everyone who liked the fic will go and see them!

Rare downtime, featuring both boys, and JT and Sarge. Scroll a bit for those two, they're at the end.

I totally loved 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'. The 1978 version. Scared the bejeezus out of me. The '56 version was creepy, too, but wee!Jeff Goldblum is a favorite of mine. :) And! It *snowed*!! Just a little, and no sticking, but....snow!! Wheeee!

ANYway...now that i'm done blathering - the lovely [livejournal.com profile] juice817 made a podfic of 'South China Sea'! So neat. And [livejournal.com profile] cybel made a podbook version, with art! So very, very cool. Thank you so much, guys! I'm overwhelmed.

And I'm overwhelmed by the reaction the story's gotten from everyone. Really makes me smile, 'cause i was completely nervous and tweaked about this fic. Just ask Snow! Heh.

Anyway - links! Podfic, and art and link to podbook.

Also - yes, Cat has seen the b-day greets, he's just been busy. He got the new World of Warcraft um...thingy...upgrade? update? whatever, from his brother, so...much more Lair time than usual. Heeeee.

*twirls you all around and around*

Okay! This is new. Oh, so new. And rather shocking, if you know me. But i will deflect that shock by stating quite firmly that this is all [livejournal.com profile] sweptawaybayou's fault. Utterly, totally, and completely her fault.

Also, all for her. :)

What we have here is RPS. Yes yes. AU RPS, even! I know, i know. It's been - wow - years. Since the Cracktrailer. Anyway. This is actually set in the most historically interesting of times to me, the Vietnam War. I can't get enough of it, for some reason.

I hope you all enjoy! Beta'd, as per usual, by the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens.

Timestamp, ten years later. History Like Bones.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] catsbycat has oh-so-graciously made art for this fic! And it's truly amazing. Go see! JT and 'Sarge'. *scroll a little* And the boys together - some rare downtime.
