That's my take-away from the Women's March (sister edition) that I got home from a couple hours ago. I thought a few hundred would be there, we were over 2000, and it was awesome! The sun came out for us, it was nearly seventy, and the walk was grand.

We had a number of local speakers, including Cori Bush, who ran for the Senate in 2016. Unfortunately, she didn't win, but she had my vote! She's been getting death threats and actually was *shot at* a few weeks ago, mostly for her activism in Ferguson, MO.

I was hesitant about going (since I'd be alone), and hoping my stupid internal issues wouldn't make it impossible. But I'm so very glad I did. The pictures and news from across the country and around the *world*, of women (and men) marching in solidarity, are AMAZING. A sea of pink pussy hats!

I even got my picture in the paper (virtual). :)

I did a double-sided sign, so I'd be 'saying something' coming and going. 'We the People' art by Shepard Fairey.

So that was my Saturday. I'm going to get going on the rest of the Snowflake challenges tomorrow. *waves*

ETA: I also posted Babylon over on my scarecrow_horses AO3 account. Very old Spike/Xander post-apocalypse story. :)

I think this has to be the first protest where so many different people I know (online or off) have taken part in such a variety of places. My friend in L.A. went to that protest today and my friend in NYC went to Washington with her daughter. I've seen several people in my flist taking part in different cities. It's fantastic it's had such a turnout.

Go you for overcoming your fears about going alone. I'm glad it was a positive experience for you.

Love your sign!
